"Hope you're okay? Did you get hurt anyway? Tell me please and I'll come running place"
"You don't have to worry Wren. I'm a good fighter you know." He joked. Then he heard her scoff from the other end of the line.
"You seriously don't have to worry of me, worry about you and Rachel" Immediately he knew he shouldn't have said that. "It's my fault you got into a fight, I have every right to feel""You shouldn't feel responsible, Nate. I'm fine. But there's something I wanted to ask you"
He froze, knowing where this conversation was leading to, he just had to stop this already but that would be unfair to Wren. As her best friend, he need to tell her everything, she has the right to know, the right to really care. He didn't like keeping secrets especially from her, knowing where it would lead their friendship to. Wren might completely not trust him again and no wonder people mistook their relationship. He always wanted Wren to understand him, the real him yet it was difficult to tell her this, it might ruin their friendship.
"Nathan? Are you still there?" she asked since it seemed like he paces out for some reason.
"Uh, yes I am. So, what's the big question milady?" he joked, trying to sound okay.
"It's Rachel" she said and he froze me. He knew somehow she'd find out. Wren is that smart.
"WHAT kind of history did you have with her?" Wren on the other line is still bothered with Rachel's last statement.
"Uhm, Wren.. I have to go, mom just called catch ya later in school tomorrow, yeah? Goodnight"
"Of course, good night"
"Stay out of trouble, Tristan is Danger zone" he added and she laughed. These two were two stubborn for their own good, she needed to know about them two... She keep thinking they have one huge, deep, dark secret.
"Got it" she said and hung up. She really needs a new phone, she couldn't continue making calls all the time. Texting was way easier... She still hasn't had the guts to tell her parents... No mom about it.

She was tired, and her head was pounding, she didn't get enough sleep the night before. Plus Mr Churchill was boring her. He was such an old boring teacher. Mona is practically sleeping, her head bent over her book and Wren chuckled, she was such a lazy student. She was also proud that she has such a sweet sweet friend that stood up to anyone that crossed her path. But Mona was a real talker and the only time she is ever quiet is when she is asleep.
It is a real pity the both of them are interested in the same guy and she felt bad for that. She was determined to keep her feelings in check, she wouldn't lose her precious friendship over some stupid crush. Wren started drawing something at the back of her note when she felt something boring into the side of her head. She first of all ignored it, but when she couldn't do that anymore, she looked towards the direction only to catch Ryder's eyes on her, there was something about his eyes, it looked serious, focused on her and it felt creepy so she smiled at him and then he looked away almost immediately like he just found out he was staring.
Okay, weird
Then, she remember what he said the other day about liking her and smiled to herself. He looked shocked when he realized what he had said. She couldn't imagine why he was nervous and could not help but feel good that she was able to make him feel that way. She hoped he could understand that he was likable and should be more confident. Then the bell went, stopping old boring Churchill. She could hear the other kids sighing in relief. She wondered how a person wouldn't know how boring he is and stop making the lives of teenagers miserable.
