"I'm sorry, Nerd. It was all an accident. I didn't mean to hurt you, that blow wasn't meant for you " He ran this line for the hundredth time and ran his hand through his sandy brown hair thoroughly. He felt terrible for what he did.
"Cool off, man. You sound like a sissy when you say that. The girl probably sees you as a monster now and wouldn't stand there listening to the junk you've got " Jake said, throwing the ball at him. They were all in the school's basketball court. The four friends hung out here most of the time.
"You're so not helping matters, dude. I can't believe I actually hit a girl in the gut! " He shook, throwing back the ball at him.
"We all saw that, you shouldn't have run out like a coward... Forgotten 'face your problems and not run away from them' ?" Tyler added
"Says the coward who came right after me " he rolled his eyes. " Well, I... I was kinda scared. I couldn't face it. I couldn't face that, man. "
He hated this feeling of guilt and fear, he always wanted to be in control of his feelings and not being some pathetic emotional boy. But he felt sick for what he'd done and regretted it over and over again.
"I don't hit girls " he added quietly
"We know that too "
"What if she dies? What if she doesn't survive that? I'd be totally screwed up if my dad gets to know, he'll kill me, I'll spend the rest of my life grounded and cut off from the rest of the world or He could send me to some country in Africa! "
They all laughed at this. They knew what Mr. Caves was capable of doing. He was very scary. He could do absolutely anything to get rid of anything that stood in the way of his good reputation. His reputation was what mattered to him the most than family. That was how he got rid of Andrew, Tristan's elder brother years ago... Long story.
"Ryder is there with her " Jake said matter-of-factly
"Yeah, Ryder is always the sweet one. Anyone would fall for his charms, he's just so freaking perfect. While I'm the jerk, she would never listen to the monster everyone fears... "
"And worships " Tyler added
"Worships.. Seriously? Did I hear you right, Tyler? "
"Get over it, dude. You should know by now, stop playing dumb, doesn't look good on you. You have every single person in this school wrapped around your little finger ... They'd do anything to be on your good side " Jake said.
"Where did I hear that from again?... 'it doesn't suit you '... "Tyler joked, shaking in laughter
"Oh stop it, Ty. " Tristan added while the boys kept laughing.
"You really can act tough, I almost peed myself terrified!" The laughter increased, Tristan joining them. Then, the laughter died down.
"The mysterious nerdy girl impresses me, she hates me and is the only person who really has stood up to me, and she dares me way too much. I'm actually having fun and want to see how this turns out "Tristan said.
"Well, don't end up falling for her" Tyler added stupidly
"Get a grip, Tyler " Jake warned
"What? That's what happens in movies and stories.. Mr popular /bad boy falls for the quiet nerdy girl. Plus she's hot. Those striking blue eyes is worth falling heads over for" he finished, while his friends looked at him in silence.
"Would you guys stop giving me that look? Its troublesome. " Tyler said to his friends who seemed out. "Okay, okay what I said was dumb, but I'm right too. I might end up getting her"
