"I'm so sorry. I wouldn't be able to make it. Maybe you should ask Ryder! Right? He would totally agree. "
Mona suggested.
You see, there's something about disappointments, you never prepare for it, and they come like blows, snapping you into reality. Wren didn't see herself going for the show without Mona she had thought about the fun they would have and the things they would gossip about. Again, she wanted Mona there so she would escape really awkward situations, she was like oil that lubricates awkward moments. Again, Wren didn't want to be left alone with Rachel. Remember the hang out Rachel talked about? It was this, and she dreaded being a third wheel, especially with Rachel and Nathan. She just didn't know how things we're with Rachel and how she took things, neither did she know how her relationship with Nathan was, the last time referred her as his 'girlfriend', he didn't affirm it.
"Ryder?"
"Yes, of course, Ryder." Mona batted her lashes, clasping her hands together. "I have this date with Ian and I don't want to ruin it for him. Okay? Bestie? "
"Okay, okay."
And that was what led her to where she was now. In the midst of sweaty teenagers screaming and dancing. The noise was deafening and the air was thick and sticky. She had never seen Nathan perform, she was just too busy to attend any of his shows and she was glad she came.
She had asked Ryder if he was going to be able to make it, but he said no. And she understood his reasons. In fact, she was meant to be with him out there, but it was Nathan's big day, and she wanted to be there for him.
His first song was a slow classical song, more of instrumentals —his mastery of guitar was awesome and his band members cooperated with him so well, producing really beautiful music. The song he sang was directed to his lost but found love. she recalled the song, she had heard him singing it before. Then, she thought it was just a random song, she didn't know it was for an actual person, and that actual person was Rachel. Now she could fix the puzzle.
Seeing him on that stage, made her remember the good old days when they sneaked into the music room and sang to their heart's fill. Now she had almost forgotten Nathan sang and she felt bad.
People really liked him. The girls were screaming 'I love you Nathan!' She didn't want to read the expression on Rachel's face.
Just at the end of the first music, there was an intro with the guitar the sound was awesome and she couldn't help but jump in enthusiasm. Then the band joined, lastly the piano, causing an uproar amongst the audience, the hall vibrated into action. People danced, swinging their hair in the air. There was something about music that made people high, drowning in the lyrics, swinging and jumping. It wasn't so bad afterall, as Wren joined them. She didn't know when she joined Rachel, they we're holding hands and dancing, screaming.
If anyone had told her a month ago that she would be in this position with Rachel, she would have laughed straight into the person's face.

After the show, Nathan had suggested the three of them hung out, see a movie and grab dinner and it was a great idea.
"You we're awesome out there. And I feel sick I've not been coming for any of your shows."
Wren had told Nathan on their way out.
"You've always been busy, Rachel. And I get it. Don't feel bad." He had said.
They had watched Lion King. Watching it all over again brought back Nostalgia from when she was little. But the remaking of the movie added spice to it, and although she had watched Lion King so many times, she couldn't help but get intoxicated in the movie. Especially when the song...
