*Next day*
Mariah POV:
Dis mornin' I had a lot on my mind. One thing fa a fact...it'll take some time ta get over everything and I know dats gonna take forever.
After doin' what I had ta do, I go downstairs and start cooking breakfast. Its been a year since I've done dis. I'm surprised I'm still know how.
When I'm finished, I turn around and see tha bottle of Hennessy. I juss look at it. I grab it, grab a glass from tha cabinet, and put some ice in it. I pour some in tha glass and shake it a lil bit.
Right when I was finna down it, August clears his throat. I jump entirely too hard.
Me: "Shit..."
August: "Scare ya?"
Me: "A lil bit..."
August: "Mmhmm. So. What chu doin'?"
I look at my glass then back at him...
Me: "About ta have a small sip..."
He juss looks at me...
Me: "Pour it down tha drain?"
August: "Sounds bout right..."
I pour it out and he grabs tha bottle. He pours it out as he looks at me.
August: "Stay away from tha alcohol. Tha simple fact dat chu was finna drink dis at dis time of mornin'...startin' ta make me think you've become an alcoholic..."
He points at tha other bottles of liquor. I move them by tha sink.
August: "First things first...stay off tha liquor..."
Me: "It was a coping mechanism..."
August: "Find somethin' else. Second...stay off tha weed..."
I sigh...
August: "I want you ta sober all tha way up. Dat, alone, is tha first step..."
He throws away all tha bottles and pulls me closer ta him.
August: "I love you..."
Me: "I love you, too..."
August: "I love you even more while you're in your right mind. I'm saving your liver..."
Me: "*chuckles* I juss gotta keep myself distracted. I can't be drunk off my rockers wit kids hea'. I can't believe I allowed dat ta happen..." I said as I covered my face
August: "You still took care of'em though. Dats all dat matters. I juss don't wanna see you like dat again. 'Iight?"
I nod and he kisses my forehead.
August: "Na you know...I have ta go. You good ta do tha clothes by yourself?"
Me: "Ummm. No. But...B was in town, so I'm juss waitin' on ha ta come by..."
