6. Preparations

Bang    Crash    Boo-. I jumped out of bed because of the sudden noise and ran to where it was coming from. I didn't even really run, I just let my feet carry me while rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

I ended up in the kitchen, with most of the kids staring at me sheepishly. I just nodded in understanding and headed back upstairs to get changed Last Night was one of the only nights I went nightmare free in a while. Of course, the one night I can sleep, I get woken up.

I quickly changed and got ready, and mentally prepared myself for going downstairs to see the kids. I took small, slow steps towards the kitchen, not sure if I was ready to see what was going on yet. Instead of seeing the mess that I was expecting, I saw all the kids eating peacefully, with a clean kitchen, and some food out for me.

"WE WANTED TO SURPRISE YOU! SO WE MADE YOU BREAKFAST!" Jack, one of the eager kids shouted when they saw me looking. 

"Thank you all, I am sure it is great." I tried not to gush at their cuteness and picked up my plate, sitting where it once rested. 

I took a couple pates before putting it in a bag for later. Thanks to some houses in the past not feeding me very often, or sometimes not feeding me at all, I can't eat a lot at once. I used to not be able to eat practically at all, but since I cam here I have been able to eat more often.

"MOVE! YOU LITTLE SHI-" When I heard yelling I got up and ran to where Mrs. Caster was pushing kids out of her way. Once she saw me she stopped. "There you are! We leave at four!" She exclaimed almost cheerfully before walking away.

I just blinked rapidly before turning and going to the kitchen. There aren't many clocks in the house, but the stove has a clock, so it's usually what we all use. I realize that it's 7:00 and that I slept in today.  I start to head to my room, but then decide I will need Charlottes help to get ready later. I go to her door and knock twice before entering.

"Oh, hey! I am playing cards, wanna join?" Charlotte didn't even question why I was here, just if I wanted to play.

"Sure, but around 3:00 I am going to need your help to get ready for an event."  After I said it I realized that it didn't come out as a question. But luckily Charlotte just nodded and started dealing cards.

"I won"

"I beg your pardon?"

"No, I won. You lost."

"I think you are mistaken. I won."

"Allison I swear to god, I hit the jack first, I won."

"Wow, I am so scared. And If you won, you would be holding the jack, like I am."

"What do you mean? We bo-" I carefully flicked the card out from under her hand and held it up between my middle and pointer finger.

"Annnyways, help me with my hair, I need it to look pretty." I decided to leave how it is done up to her, I never do my hair fancy so I have no idea how to do it.

"Okay, go back to your room, I will be there in a second." She pushed me out the door before I could object so I just sighed and walked back to my room. Alex was... somewhere. I learned that he goes off to do stuff in secret, but never asked him about it.

When I got back to my room I took out the dress and layed it out to look at. I heard Charlotte's footsteps coming my way before the door opened. 

"Wow..." I turned to see Charlotte staring at the dress. "I was just going to straighten your hair, but apparently you are going to a fancy event, so we are going all out." She exclaims before walking back to the door, "Change into the dress first." was all she said before walking out and closing the door behind her.
