This is not how I wanted the day to go.

The school was fine. Nobody really bothered me after this morning, although people still whispered about me behind my back I am sure.

Now is the problem.

"You will go to school every day. Any day you miss you will make up during summer school." Bruce has been repeating the same sentence multiple times throughout dinner.

Granted, he is saying other words throughout the meal as well, but he seems to bring the conversation back towards school the whole time.

"I know. It's not like this school is hard." I tell him and eat a bite of salad.

"Gotham Academy is one of the finest schools that this town can offer. It has challenging courses and great extracurricular activities." Bruce recites like to true businessman he is. He probably wrote that on the brochures they give to rich families to convince them to come.

"We were learning Algebra, Bruce. Algebra. I learned that when I was ten. In Gym class half of the class just sat there and did nothing, some people were even on their phones. Not to mention in English they were just starting to learn comma rules. It is a disaster. " I roll my eyes at the fact he thought this school was hard.

The reason I skipped school, even what I had the option to go, was because it was annoying.

I already learned most of the things they were teaching us on the streets, so their boring ways of 'teaching' it just made me want to crawl under my desk and hide. Most people think that being a street kid means you don't learn everything, but that is just a lie.

There were some people that would teach you anything, for a price. Teach you how to write better, if you deliver fake documents to someone.

If you help someone create certain contraband, you will get taught science and chemistry in return.

Monitor someone's actions for a while, learn basic psychology.

Help someone stage a scene, or clean up a scene, and get taught about square feet, area, perimeter, basic math functions.

Although you have to give something to get something in return, I learned everything quickly. Criminals and thugs might be bad people, but they still have hearts. They will be happy to teach a little orphan math or science, as long as that little innocent orphan, does their bidding.

"That is what most seniors learn in their grade. That is the standard curriculum. What did you expect to learn?" Bruce leans onto the table and furrows his eyebrows when speaking.

I shrug lightly at him and look at my bowl. "Something hard maybe. Something new, and difficult." I stand up as soon as I am done speaking and make my way towards the door, no longer hungry.

I head upstairs to shower and change for bed.

Once I am done I sit on my bed and fall back.

I lay there for a while before deciding I won't be able to sleep here anymore.

It is way too big and uncomfortable.

There is barely a sound when I get out of bed, even though I almost fall over.

I make my way to the door and open it slowly, looking down the hall. There are two more doors down this hallway that look like bedrooms. One of them has to be less gigantic.

I make my way to the next door and open it. Inside there is a big purple room. Gross.

The next door looks promising, so I head towards it. This one has the least amount of room, so whatever is on the inside has to be a lot smaller.
