"Nobody even imagines how well one can lie about the state of one's own heart" - Yukio Mishima
I packed up my stuff and went to the swimming pool to wait for Jimin. I sat at the edge of the pool and closed my eyes to listen to the sounds around me.
It was way past midnight but there were still sounds of the cars from the roads. Yet it felt so peaceful by the pool, you could hear the water wishing-washing as if you were by the ocean. The couple of weeks had taken a toll on me and today was the first time I felt at peace just by sitting still and listening to the sounds. The pool was surrounded by trees and shrubs that the hotel planted. If you listen closely, you could hear the sounds of the beetles and crickets.
"Did you wait very long?" He said softly as if he was worried that his voice might startle me. I opened my eyes to see a dark-haired and pale-skinned Jimin in his white shirt sitting next to me. "I'm not sure how long I was here," I said and I gave him a smile.
"What were you doing here?" Jimin asked without making any eye contact with me. He stared straight into the emptiness in front of him. "Just finish up some work. You wanted to see me?" I replied.
He massaged the back of his neck as he thought of the answer to my question. "I was bored in the room and well you replied my message. I thought you might need a company as you did your work. I could help you with your work, you know?"
I chuckled, "Oppa, I didn't know you were into my homework. You told me you were coming so I had to finish it quickly. I thought it was something urgent."
"Ahh.. Right," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Are you okay? Did you hurt your neck?" I asked as I was getting concerned that he might have sprained his neck or something.
"Oh.. err.. no.. I didn't hurt my neck, it's just a habit," he said. "This view looks pretty amazing, don't you think?"
"Oppa, I went around the whole pool to find this amazing spot, you know?" I said.
"Really?" Jimin's eyes were wide open and he finally looked at me.
I laughed, "I'm just joking with you. I just decided to sit here because it's darker here."
Jimin snickered, "do you like the dark that much?"
"Very," I giggled.
There was a short silence between our conversation. Part of me wanted to know why he wanted to see me so abruptly, part of me just wanted to just sit there next to him in silence. In the end, I chose to wait for him to start talking.
He broke the silence first.
"How do you feel working for us?" Jimin asked.
"Really? That's your question that you wanted to ask when you told me not to leave?" I raised one of my eyebrows.
"I'm just trying to start a conversation, that's all."
"It's okay. I guess it wasn't as fancy as I would have imagined but it is still manageable, I guess." I looked at him and I could see his jawline accentuated by the lights.
Jimin laughed, "how fancy did you think working for us would be? Aren't our concerts fancy enough?"
"Hahaha. Lighten up, I never imagined myself working for BTS, you know."
Jimin smiled and he looked laid back. "What do you think about me?" he asked.
I furrowed my brows and he smiled when he saw that. He gently touched the skin between my brows with his index finger, "why are you giving me that kind of expression?" and pushed my forehead lightly as if he was trying to make the crease to go away.
