Selena's POV

I was walking to school, and decided to open my bag to read Jane Eyre when I'd arrive. I didn't find it and found myself freaking out. My eyes widened and I remember that the last time I read it was when I was at the coffee shop. Oh no, I mus have forgotten it there. I rush to go there and catch it before it's gone forever.

I enter it. The book is nowhere to be found, my own favorite book..lost forever. I sigh deeply before walking to school.

As was in school and in class with Elena, I was miserable. ''You look awfully miserable...'' Elena commented.

I nodded. ''Jane Eyre is gone, my book. It's lost and never to be in my hands again..''

''You say it like it's a bad thing.'' Elena rolled her eyes at me. If she only knew the truth.

''It is a bad thing.'' I gritted my teeth. ''It's a classic, it's first published in the 1800's. It's 2014 now.'' I felt myself getting angry.

''I'm sure you can find another copy...''

''It's not just a copy... my dad left it for me before he took off when I was like 3 years old. It was a gift.''

Elena looked at me strangely, like she was sorry about what she said. She nodded slowly, and giving me comforting smile. ''I'm sorry Selena...'' she apologized and she was obviously very sorry.

''It's alright, just sad when things like that get lost. It's probably the only good memory I have,'' I told her, trying to remember my dad but the book is the only thing I remember of him. I haven't even seen a picture. Sometimes I wonder why I'm sad over someone I never knew or barely had.

''I know and I'm sorry.''

''Don't be, it's not your fault.'' I smiled. A moment later the bell rang and me and Elena headed for the cafeteria to get us some lunch.

When school was done, I walked out of the main doors. Elena and I went our separate ways and I stopped in my tracks when I saw Kol standing there, leaning against his car. ''Oh great...'' I mumbled to myself. I was going to walk the other way when he ran towards me.

''Wow, Selena.'' He smirked. ''Where do you think you're going?''

''Home.'' I said without any emotion in my voice. I was trying to give him hints about wanting to be left alone but I knew it wouldn't be so easy.

''Let me give you a ride.''

''No thank you...'' I said trying to get past him but he wouldn't let me.

''Come on Sel, I'll take care of you.'' I looked at the ground. So it was true, I am his now. He owns me. There is no getting out. I nodded and walked with him to his car.

We had gone to Kol's place. I was in his bed looking at the ceiling. He had just zipped his pants after being finished with me. I quickly got up getting dressed. ''Don't leave so soon...''

''I have to. I'm sorry.'' I wasn't sorry. He kissed my neck softly, I didn't feel loved I just felt as if I was his property, which I was.

''Well then, I guess I'll see you soon.'' I nodded. ''I'll give you a ride back..''

He drove me home, we were outside my house and I forced myself to kiss him. I got out of the car, closing the door behind me. He drove off and I got into my house.

The doorbell rang which it usually didn't, except it would be Kol or some of Jake's friends. I ran towards the door opening it, surprised to find that pilot, Zac, standing there. My eyes widened, what the hell was he doing at my house? ''Uhm, hi...'' I greeted.

''Hello, it's Selena right?'' I nodded. ''Well uh, you forgot this at the coffee shop and I took it for you.'' He handed me the Jane Eyre book.

''Oh my god, thank you. It's very special to me.'' I then raised my eyebrow. ''How did you know where I lived?'' I said feeling a bit of a chill rush through me. The thought of him suddenly being at my house was strange.

''Oh uh, it says in the book. Your address is there.''

I nodded, feeling stupid as ever. ''Oh yeah right..sorry.'' He smiled at me. ''I would invite you in, it's just...''

'' Not appropriate,'' he finished my sentence. ''...And I just came to give you your book back.''

''Well thank you,'' I said.

He just nodded slowly before turning awkwardly and leaving the porch.
