A Dream Of Flying

Chapter 8

''I'll sleep on the couch, you can take the bed,'' Zac said as he had a blanket in his hands.

''No, it's alright,'' she said. 'I'll have the couch.''

He shrugged his shoulders. ''Are you sure?''

She nodded slowly and sat down on the couch and he handed her the blanket. ''Thanks for the clothes...'' she mumbled, she was wearing his jeans and a t-shirt. ''They are kind of big but they'll do.'' She laughed but could tell that it smelled just like him.

''Sorry..'' he said.

''Don't be, and thanks. It's just tonight, I'll deal with everything tomorrow.''

He sat down beside her. ''I brought you some hot chocolate, it's not great but it's warm.'' She nodded and gently took a  slow sip  from it. ''What really happened?''

''His name is Kol, we kind of were dating but he began to obsess over me so I told him to stay away from me, he wouldn't so tonight he tried to attack me, I got away from him and here I am.''

He sighed running his fingers through his hair and remembered the guy from the restaurant. ''Look, I would beat him up for you, kill him..but I'd probably lose my pilot permit.''

She shook her head quickly. ''I'm not asking for that, not anything but a safe place to sleep in for tonight and my home isn't exactly safe right now. I would have gone to my friend Elena but she wasn't at home. ''

A laugh escaped his lips. ''It's alright.'' He stood up. ''You were right to come here. Now get some sleep. I hope your sleeping arrangement will be pleasant so you can...'' 

''Zac?'' she giggled. ''Sweet dreams is enough.''  

He stared at her awkwardly. ''Well uh.. sweet dreams Selena,'' he said and walked away to his room.

''Sweet dreams Zac,'' she called out before she put the blanket over her and fell asleep. It was nice for once not to sleep afraid, not knowing what would happen. It was the only time she felt safe.

While Selena was sleeping Zac snook out of the hotel room. It was a small town so he easily found Kol. There were some typical parties guys like him would hang out at. His other pilot friend came with him. 

There was smoking and drinking and in a couch he saw Kol laughing with some guys and there was half drunk girls there. A blonde guy (Jake) sat next to him. ''He's over there,'' Zac told his friend and they walked over to him. ''Are you Kol?'' And he looked up at him.

''Yeah, who are you?''

Zac walked closer to him, bent down and grabbed him by the collar. ''Listen you shit..keep your hands off Selena or I'll freaking choke you to death!''

''Did he do something to her?'' Jake asked.

''Who are you?''

''Selena's brother.''

''Oh, from what I seen your not the best brother. He's probably done stuff to her you already know about.'' Jake glared at him as it was the truth. ''Keep your hands off her or I will come back. IS THAT CLEAR?'' Kol nodded quickly and Zac knocked him down to the ground. ''Leave.Her.Alone,'' he said and him and his friend walked out of the building.

Jake stared at Kol in disbelief. ''Don't look at me like that you know your not any better.''

Elena and Stefan were in his garden on the field grass. They stared up at the stars. ''Wow, you are romantic aren't you?'' she joked.

''The stars just remind me of you..they're bright and beautiful'' He took her hand in his, stroking it gently.

Elena blushed. ''I always saw you looking at me but wondered when you would make your move. Guess you finally did it.''

''I was afraid you wouldn't like me.''

She quickly hissed. ''It's impossible not to like you. '' She smiled and he looked at her in the eyes, he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.
