A Dream Of Flying

Chapter 2

Selena's POV

After hanging out with Elena, I walked up the steps to my house. I could feel my heart racing with fear. It was like this almost every night and sometimes a night without fear would be nice. I opened the door, noticing Jake and his friends by the table. They were drinking beer, playing cards and some of them taking drugs. It didn't surprise me.

''Selena, go to your roo,'' Jake said as he had noticed me standing there.

''I was on my way..''  I mumbled, but got interrupted by a deep voice. I turned around seeing it was Jake's friend, Kol, speaking.

''No stay'' He said flirtaciously. I noticed him staring at me carefully up and down. ''Can't she stay Jake?'' He walked towards me, grabbing my waste with his right hand. 

''No.'' He glared at him. Thankfully, Kol let go of me and  I turned around, walking to my room. I could feel his eyes on me as I went and I closed the door after me. I collapsed on my bed, looking out the window at the sky. The moon shined into my bedroom. Moments later the door flew open and in the doorway stood Kol. I rose up, feeling my heart begin to race once again.

''You look very beautiful tonight Selena.'' 

''W-hat are you doing here?'' I stuttered. He only closed the door and stepped closer to me, he touched my hair, stroking it. He then turned me around pushing me down on the bed. ''What are you doing!? Stop..please'' I knew that Jake could hear the screams. He would do nothing to help me. ''Your going to enjoy this..'' He whispered in my ear but I struggled to escape, he was too strong for me to handle. Kol ripped my pants off and he entered inside me.

Selena had woken up in the middle of the night. Kol had been long gone but he had whispered in her ear ''I will be seeing you again'' with satisfaction. Selena walked to the bathroom to clean herself up. She had been bleeding and she changed into her pyjamas. She walked back to her room and sat carefully on the bed. She whined as she felt the pain when she was lying down. Selena closed her eyes carefully before falling asleep.

Selena was in the coffee shop with Elena. In her hands she had a book she was reading. Elena came out of the bathroom. She rolled her eyes as she saw Selena reading Jane Eyre. ''Do you ever not read?'' 

''You should try it sometime..''

''I read..magazines.'' She tried to look innocent. ''What?'' She took a bite of her beagle. Selena only rolled her eyes and said nothing. ''What is the book about anyway?''

''It's a love story. Very beautiful actually. It's about an orphan girl, Jane Eyre who lives with a woman and her children. They treat her badly and send her to a very strict school study. When she's grown up she goes to be a governess at a mansion, there she meets the dark and mysterious Mr.Rochester and they fall in love but there's also a secret.''

''So you've read it before?'' Elena asked.

''Yes, it's my favorite book,'' Selena said.

Elena shook her head, rolling her eyes. Selena took a sip of her coffee. ''So are you working today?''

''Not until tonight,'' Selena told her. Since she didn't have a supportive family, she worked for her own money so she could atleast have food, she also bought food for her mom who was hungover most of the time. All of a sudden the door opened and two men walked inside. They looked to be in their mid twenties. They were dressed in a uniform and held their hats.

''Yum yum..'' Elena mumbled.

''What?'' Selena asked then caught a glimpse of the two men. She rolled her eyes. ''Don't stare too much..''

''Look at them, they are pilots. You don't get to see that often..''

''Yeah, I know. They are lucky to get to fly around the world..'' Selena said staring at both of them. She was caught off guard when one of them stared at her. The sun shined perfectly at him so she could see his deep blue eyes. He smiled and he and his friend walked towards them.

''Oh my god, they are coming here..'' Elena said excited. 

''Ladies,'' one of them said and they got them self some coffee. 

''Good day,'' Elena said and hit Selena's hand.

''uhm, hello..'' said Selena.

''So uh, where are you flying to?'' Elena asked flirtatiously as she was admiring them.

Selena rolled her eyes. ''I'm sorry for my friend, she's not used to guys in a uniform.''

The deep blue eyed man grinned. ''It's alright, and we're staying here for a while. We've been flying all week, finally got us some vacation..'' he said, his other friend walked away.

''Jane Eyre, '' he said. Selena looked at him confused, he then pointed to the book.

''Oh, oh ... yes.''

''It's a classic.'' He smiled.

''You've read it?''

''No, but my mom read it so many times that she made me watch the movie all the time. I don't know how many versions I've seen.'' He laughed.

''Well I just love the secret,'' Elena said.

''You don't even know what the secret is,'' Selena said to her.

''I'm Elena, and this is Selena.'' She quickly changed the subject.

''I'm Zac.'' He smiled.

All of a sudden Elena's phone began to ring. ''Ooh, gotta take this.'' She rushed away to answer it.  

''Sometimes I don't even know why I'm friends with her.'' Selena shook her head feeling a bit awkward.

Zac laughed and tried to pour down coffee into his cup. Selena saw how he was struggling so she rushed up from her seat. ''Here let me,'' she said, grabbing the can for him and it finally worked.

''Thanks,'' he said, then noticing her hand which had a bruise on it.

She hurried up to cover it up. ''Uhm.''

Elena then came back. ''I've got to go, have a nice vacation.'' She smiled. He nodded and Selena walked out of the coffee shop with Elena.
