A Dream Of Flying

Chapter 10

Selena woke up the very next morning, she went to the kitchen seeing her mom sitting there with a headache, she was about to get some water and aspirin when someone stopped her. ''Don't.'' It was Jake, to her surprise. ''I'll do it, go to school.'' He smiled and took the glass from her hand. ''You've taken care of her more then enough.''

''Thanks,'' Selena replied and walked out of the house. Maybe he was trying to change, but she was too afraid to believe it.  

''Hey wait,'' He ran out after her. ''I can give you a ride.'' He offered, but it was an offer she was willing to refuse.

''Thanks but, I'll walk. I've done it for a long time, why stop now?'' she said, turning on her heel and walking off.

Jake walked back inside, not being able to shake the guilty feeling off him that he felt stinging inside of him.

Selena arrived to school, she noticed Elena being pecked on the lips by Stefan. So much has happened, but that probably explained why she hadn't seen her. Stefan left and she walked over to her. ''Hey..where have you been?''

Elena giggled. ''Busy..'' 

''So I  noticed.'' She grinned at her friend.

''What about you?''

''Same.''

Elena noticed the strange tone in her friend's voice. ''Oh no, what happened?''

Selena shook her head. ''Its fine,'' she tried to assure her when it really wasn't.

''No it's not, tell me,'' she demanded and Selena decided to give in.

''Kol, my brother's ex friend.. tried to attack me again but didn't succeed..so I uh tried to find you but you weren't there so I went to see Zac and he clearly took care of it for me.''

''Oh my god are you okay?'' She wrapped her arms around her then quickly pulled away. ''Wait, what do you mean by..again..and this time he didn't succeed?''

Selena had a painful look in her eye. ''He raped me.''

Elena covered her mouth in shock. ''Oh my god..'' she whispered. ''Why didn't you tell me?''

''Because I was afraid of him and what he'd do..but I'm not anymore. He's gone.'' For now. She thought to herself.

''Good.'' Elena hugged her again. ''You know what?''

''What?'' Selena asked.

''Stefan and I were going clubbing tonight, but your coming with!'' 

''But I don't have anything to wear.''

''But I do.'' Elena smiled.

Selena was dressed in a black dress that just reached over her knees, thankfully it had sleeves. Elena had curled her hair perfectly and put a make up on her. Elena herself was dressed in red dress.

''You look beautiful,'' Elena commented.

''Not as beautiful as you..'' Selena commented.

''She's right..'' Stefan was in the doorway. ''You are beautiful.'' He walked over to her and kissed her on the mouth.

''ehem..'' Selena coughed.

''Sorry..'' Elena pulled away. 

''No it's fine just don't do it when I'm around.'' She laughed.

At the Club

It was something she had never seen, or experienced. The music, the dancing, the lights. It was different, but this must have been what her mother does all nights, dance and drink until she passes out. Which she won't do.

''Come on..let's dance.'' Elena dragged her and they danced awkwardly together. After a moment of doing so, Stefan interrupted them.

''May I cut in..''

''Of course you may..'' Selena smiled brightly and was about to walk off when she bumped into someone.

''Oh I'm sorry,'' he apologized but she soon noticed that it was Zac.

''Zac what are you?''

''I could ask you the same.'' He laughed.

''Elena invited me here.''

''Well, you look, beautiful.'' He looked at her up and down.

''Thanks..'' She blushed.

''Would you like to dance?'' he asked, reaching out for her hand.

''I'm not sure.''

''Please..it'll be fun..dance with me.'' He pouted which made it even more difficult for her to refuse.

She looked at Stefan and Elena who were dancing togeher, then back at Zac. ''Sure..'' She smiled and he took her hand and they danced together. And the Calvin Harris song, I feel so close started playing.  It was completely dark but the spotlights in the air were like techno and she couldn't help but dance to the beat, he took her arms and made her put them around his neck. Before they both knew, there faces were close to each other and they leaned in at the same time and soon enough, their lips collided.
