Chapter 10

Winter break was over and I really didn't want to go back to school
It was so hard to leave him, but I honestly didn't want to see him again
'Knock,knock'
"What!" I yelled
I was still in bed she opened my door
"Honey are you awake?"
She poked her head in and I lifted up my head
" get up and get dressed! You make it seem like you just broke up" she chuckled, I silently laughed.
  I walked into school absolutely not happy to be there and looked down at my feet then someone bumped into me
"Ow!" I said rubbing my shoulder
"Oh I'm so sorry!" she said trying to comfort me I looked at her knowing she was kind and said
"It's ok it doesn't hurt that bad" I put my hand down
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah your good. What's your name?" I asked after a slight pause
"Mindy.
"What's yours?"
"Emily"
"Cool,It was nice running into" she said laughing
"Literally" I chuckled
when we said goodbye we walked into the same class and sat next to each not knowing the other person had that class
"Uh hello again" I said sitting down
"Uhh hi" she said smiling
"Long time no see" we giggled.
  
When the class ended we decided to study at my house.

"I'll be right there" I said walking to get my books out of my locker, then I felt a shadow behind me, I closed my locker then turned around slowly
"Emily uh can we talk ab-
I walked away before he could finish
"Who was that?" Mindy asked me
As we we're walking out of the school
"No one just Miles" I said upset
"Ok well he seemed like someone"
"He was... But not anymore"
"Did you guys break up?"
I glanced at her sadly then she stopped and looked at me
"You need to give him another chance"she said with a serious look on her face
"Uh ok why?" I said a little confused
"Just hear him out, let him explain, you won't regret it" she said starting to walk again
"I hardly even know you" I said looking at her
"So?"
We stood there in silence when I started thinking
"I'll do it, I'll give him one more chance" I said
"Yes" she gave me a high five as we walked inside the house.
  "So..." I heard Mindy say she was smiling when I looked at her
"What" I sad with a slightly scared voice
"Tell me what's up with you and 'Miles" she said sarcastically
"What is that supposed to me" I was writing down in my homework
"What broke you guys up?"
I looked over at her homework
"We got in a fight..."
"Ok yeah, but what got you to fight?"
After a pause I said slowly
"My best friend is in the hospital and my ex wanted to tell me why and how but Miles got in the middle of it and toke it the wrong way"
"Oh I see. Is she still in the hospital?"
"Why do you care so much?" I said trying not to be rude
" I'm not! I just want to learn more about you... that's all"
I sighed softly and apologized
"Yes...she's still in the hospital, but might not still be alive..." Tears we're rolling down my face when she gave me a hug.
