Echo's P.O.V
Alex and I showered, nothing more, nothing less.
But we both noticed the way our hands would graze each other as we grabbed for the soap, or how I subconsciously leaned into him.
By the time the water shut off, I was drowsy and tired, ready to get back on the road again.
I leaned against the shower wall and closed my eyes. I heard Alex rummaging through our bags, not thirty seconds later he had wrapped me in a large towel, encasing me in his grip.
I didn't even acknowledge it, I just leaned in to his chest and grumbled when he pushed me against the counter.
"We're staying at a hotel tonight, because you need sleep and don't want to pass out on the highway." He spoke firmly, although it barely registered the words.
He removed the towel and pulled a hoodie over my head. Whether it was his or mine would remain a mystery until tomorrow. Pants made there way onto my legs and I opened my eyes to see Alex getting changed.
If it was hard to hide my emotions before, it would be a nightmare now.
Beads of water rolled down his chest and dissolved into the towel around his waist. He pulled a shirt over his head, and I couldn't help but notice the way his back flexed as he did so.
"Eyes up here" he whispered, stepping closer to me.I let out a shaky breathe and scooted back towards the wall, which proved difficult against the counter.
"Come on, we need to get a room before it gets to late. I'll grab your bags."
The last sentence caused me to break.
I could hardly choke out the words. "You've done so much to help me, and I repay you by getting us caught and injured. I don't know how to repay you. I'm s-sorry, Alex" I rambled, tears falling freely down my face.
He placed our bags down and walked over to me, pulling me from the counter and rocking me back and forth like a child. It felt pathetic.
"You repaid me by coming, remember? I just want you safe" Why did he care?
"Y-you don't even know me" I whispered through the tears.
"Oh Echo, you have no idea"
With that, he kissed my temple and stood up, grabbing the bags and leaving me to sit there in shock.
I ran after him, stumbling out of the bathroom.
He was laughing. It was a soft sound, but it was still deep and dominant. One that gave me butterflies and caused my stomach to tingle.
Out of everyone I've ever met, and everything I've ever felt, he's the only person who makes me feel like that.
And I loved it.

Void hit 200 reads a few days ago and I'm happy.
I made a little chart of characteristics for Echo and Alex, because I don't want to post pictures. I think you should be able to view the character how you want, but here's just a few facts about each of them
