Echo's P.O.V
The hallway was neverending. I had been roaming for hours, and with it I found nothing. It seemed like the walls were moving, turning and twisting just to spite me. My stomach was aching with hunger, and the thought of water suffocated my mind. I felt drowsy, no matter how much I'd slept since I arrived here. My back was littered with cuts from the broken window, and I hadn't noticed until they began bleeding again. The thin fabric of the gown stuck to my back, and I slowly broke out in a sweat.

My blood felt like ice in my veins, but I was too hot all at once. The lights seemed to grow brighter as I ventured the empty halls. It was harder to keep my eyes open, and panic blossomed in me as my body began shutting down. Everything had doubled, and I felt dizzy. With every step, fatigue wracked through me. My body fell, growing limp. I couldn't fight anymore. I didn't want to fight anymore.

I closed my eyes, curling in on myself. Different noises shook the floor, but my head felt as if it was underwater and I couldn't force myself to look up. Arms wrapped around my body securely, picking me up as if I weighed nothing. My arms hung limp by my side, while my head lulled against their chest.

We began moving, and more doors opened. I didn't know where they came from. I didn't even know if I was still in the hallway. I heard voices, but none were familiar enough to pique my interest. My eyelids felt like lead, and I couldn't pry them open.

Soon the lights grew dim behind my eyelids, and I forced them open. My heart beat quickened when I saw Alex on the floor. His body lay still, but I saw the rise and fall of his chest. I had enough in me to put up a struggle in the person's arms, and they put me down without much convincing. I used the bit of strength I had left to curl up beside him, trying to wake his still figure. At the twitch of his fingers, my breathe sped, but I did my best not to show it. The door beside us slid closed, reminding me that we weren't alone in the room.

The lights were flicked on, and I was met with cold, grey eyes. The stare the young man gave me was unsettling, and I scooted closer to Alex.

"Oh, don't worry. He won't be waking for a while." I wanted to scoff in his face, but I didn't. I didn't know what he could do to me. "You're probably wondering why you're here, but I don't think you're worth the time. So I'll tell you one thing, and one thing only. You're not going to make it out of here alive if you don't cooperate. They will kill you if you so much as breathe the wrong way, so keep quiet." I glared at him, not bothering to respond. His ominous gave caused me to look down, playing with my hands.

The room was dark once he got up and left, and something told me he wasn't the one I should be afraid of.

When the door was finally shut, Alex leaned on his arm and pulled my towards him, remaining silent. I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck, getting as close to him as possible. "What do they want from us?" I whispered, the sound muffled by his torn shirt. He shook his head, simply holding me.

I fell asleep slowly, my stomach still aching with hunger.
