"Jen, I'm home!"

She jumps up from the couch and almost tramples me as I close the door.

"Tell me! Tell me!"

"It's was amazing, we ate, we talked, we danced, we have a song."

"You have a song? Tell me!"

"The first song we danced to- Wanted by Hunter Hayes, he started singing the lyrics in my ear."

"Is he a good singer?"

"Yes. At the end of the song, he asked me to be his girlfriend and obviously I said yes."

********

Jen and I are sitting on the couch, watching 'It's a Funny Story,' when my thoughts go to my dad.

What if he does have a good excuse? Should I hear him out? No, Serena! Curiosity killed the cat! But I'm not a cat, I'm a human. He probably doesn't have a good excuse. He left, end of story. But it still would be interesting to see what excuse he uses.

"Why did you just scream 'curiosity killed the cat'?"

"Sorry, I was thinking about something and I tend it blurt my thoughts aloud."

"What were you thinking about?"

"My dad. What if he has a good excuse? But then he probably doesn't. But it would be interesting to see what his best excuse is. Right? Should I? I don't know. Grrrrr!"

Bleep

I look at my phone and see a text, 'please just give me a chance. I'll be at Denise's tomorrow at 1.'

I gasp.

"What is it?"

Jen takes my phone and reads the text, since I'm speechless.

"What are you going to do?"

"I don't know. What should I do?"

"If you're curious, then you should go."

"Ok. I'll go."
