What do I wear? Why do I care, I shouldn't want to impress him! I shouldn't even care about him! I shouldn't go! Should I? I need John!

I call John up.

"Serena?"

"Hey. Um, my dad texted me to meet him at Denise's at 1 and I thought about going, and I decided I would go but now I'm not so sure. What should I do?"

"I can't tell you that, S, only you can decide."

"But I can't decide."

"Sometimes it pays to take chances, sometimes it doesn't, so far, your chances have rewarded you, the lucky streak may continue and it may not."

"Got it. Thanks. Bye, Sully."

"Bye, my celebritity."

I take a look at the time, shoot I gotta get ready! I leap out of bed and grab dark blue jeans and a T-shirt and change in a minute flat, I think I set a new record.

"Bye, Jen," I head out the door, get into my car, and drive away.

I pull up to the diner at 1, here we go. Once I get in the diner, I start looking for the black-haired man with brown eyes I once saw in a picture under my mom's pillow. There he is. I walk over to the booth and sit opposite of him.

"Serena--"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm here, now explain."

"When I left, I was an alcoholic and I had a gambling addiction, I lost a lot, I went to loan sharks, but I kept gambling and losing they threatened to kill my family if I didn't pay them back soon, so I left, made it seem like I didn't care about my family, they still came after me, so I started robbing places, eventually I paid them off. One day a cop came to my hotel room and arrested me, that was the day I planned on coming back home, I just got out of prison a month ago, it took me a while to find out where your mom lived. So did your mother really die?"

"Yeah, it was strokes."

"When's the funeral?"

"It was Saturday."

"Oh." He's not lying, I see nothing but truth in his eyes.

"You're not lying."

"No, I'm not."

"So are you buying a house soon?"

"Depends. Where do you live?"

"LA, but I'm thinking about staying here permanently after my two months off end."

"Where do you work?"

"Body guarding agency for celebrities."

"I bet you have a lot of stories." Stories, huh...stories...that gives me an idea.

"Why did you move to LA?"

"I want to be an actress,or I wanted, I don't really know anymore. I've kind of start falling for John."

"John?"

"Yeah, my childhood friend who I lost touch with when I moved because Nate made me delete him from my life. Nate was my jerk of a finance until I caught him cheating on me. Hey! I have an idea."

"Yes?"

"Why don't you live in mom's house? You can follow me there, do you have a car?"

"No, I took a cab here, and I've been walking ever since."

"Let's go to your hotel and get your stuff."

**************

"Hey, Jen- come met someone."

"Be there in a minute, let me brush my hair," that's Jen, always starting her day off late.

"Go head and put your stuff in the master room."

He walks into the bedroom and comes out a minute later, Jen comes into the living-room ten seconds after him.

"Jen-meet my dad!"

"Hi, Mr. Dawson."

"Call me Alan dear. Aren't you Jennifer Lawerence?"

"Yep," I answer for her, "I was body guarding her one night and found out she's the only decent one among her species- celebrities. Been friends ever since. Don't tell anyone, as for as the world knows, she's in NYC."

*************

"Wow," Jen says after I finish telling her the story, "that's great! He didn't just leave. John will be excited to meet him."

I gasp, "John! I gotta tell him." I jump out of my bed and grab my phone.

"Girl , that's not the type of news you say on the phone."

"You're right."

I dial John's number,

"Hello?"

"John! Are you off work yet?"

"Yeah. What's up?"

"Can I come over, I have interesting news."

"Sure."
