Doesn't Hurt to Dream

I was fourteen and I was crazy about him

Was too busy dreaming up a world

World where he felt the same way about me

And I was his only girl

Then the bell would ring and it'd wake me up, snap me back to reality

And then I'd have to face the cold hard fact that you're still out of reach

And the thing that never fails to get under my skin

Is knowing deep inside I'll never win

Cause she's got a hold of your heart

And it sucks cause I'm no girl who likes to steal

So I know chances are we'll never be real but

hey hey hey

It doesn't hurt to dream

My friends giggle and point fingers when they see me spacin out

Cause they all know damn well who I'm thinkin' bout

And I start to blush and giggle like an idiot when you walk in the room

It seems like no matter how hard I try I just can't get over you

Then she and her friends walk down the hall looking like beauty queens..

And I remind myself I've gotta move on cause you're out of reach

And the thing that never fails to get under my skin

Is knowing deep inside I'll never win

Cause she's got a hold of your heart

And it sucks cause I'm no girl who likes to steal

So I know chances are we'll never be real but

hey hey hey

It doesn't hurt to dream
