Hey guys I am so sorry for leaving this story for so long and not updating. I must be the worst when it comes to updating constantly. How long has it been since I last updated? Two years? Yikes!
I don't really have an excuse for not updating except for the unbelievably embarrassing fact that I kind of forgot about this fic? I've been trying to write so many other things and life just got in the way and pushed writing this story (along with everything else about writing) to the back of my mind).
I had to re-read this story again just to get a feel of my own writing and wow I was cringing. I know as you write more your writing gets more evolved and different from what you used to write, but it's almost like I've got a totally different style.
Thankfully there is only this chapter and the Epilogue left so I think I can crawl back to the writing style of this story until the end. Admittedly there where meant to be two chapters before the Epilogue but I combined then together.
Sorry for ranting like this at the beginning of the chapter, but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that I left this story alone for so long.
Also, the ship name for Derek and Primrose is officially Dose (thank you InfinityUnicornz for the suggestion)!
Enjoy!
Hybrid-Huntress
Things started to go downhill a few months after Primrose's kidnapping, an event that had slowly been forgotten about as time continued.
According to Talia Hale the Argent's, a hunter family who currently lived in town, seemed to be gearing up for some big attack. While nothing had happened yet, it was making the Hale family on edge and Rose among them.
Since her kidnapping Derek had taken to walking her to and from school, not letting her go anywhere alone in fear that she would be taken again. While at first Rose was a bit annoyed by the overprotectiveness of her boyfriend, she eventually understood his want to keep her safe, and if this made him feel that she was a little safer, then she could grin and bear It.
However just because he was on an overprotective high when it came to her and her safety, did not mean that he had to stand in front of her, his back obscuring her view, a growl rumbling in his chest the second he locked eyes with Kate Argent.
There were in the middle of a street in the main part of town, standing on the sidewalk. It was a Saturday and the couple were going on a date to a cute little ice cream place down the street. However, when Derek had caught the scent of an Argent close by, he had gone into growly-growl mode and refused to move a muscle as he scanned the surrounding area for then, tensing up when he locked eyes with a smirking Kate Argent who was staring at them from across the road, standing under the shade of a tree.
Rose herself eyed Kate from her position over Derek's shoulder, standing up on her tiptoes to blink at the older woman who seemed to not be doing anything but stare unnervingly at them. Her hand slid into Derek's and Rose began to pull him along the sidewalk, towards the ice cream shop they had been headed for their date.
"Come on Derek," she told him softly, rubbing her thumb over his knuckles to try and soothe his since agitation. "She's not doing anything so let's just so have ice cream like we planned, ok?" She asked him, still tugging gently at him to get him to look at her and away from Kate.
