Thanks for saving me" he says.
"I couldn't live knowing that I could have saved you" We sat quietly for longer. He began to look sad again. "What's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing" he says.
"There is clearly something wrong. Plus I'm your friend. Well, that's who you are to me"
"Your definently my friend, but I don't want you to hear all my problems. You wouldn't understand and you wouldn't care-"
"Who said I wouldn't care?"
"I highly doubt you would" he says.
"If you have a friend like that, you shouldn't be friends with them" I tell him.
"I didn't have any friends before you" he says.
"Oh...why not?" I ask.
"Everyone thinks I'm mean or too much to deal with. A waste of space."
"Who told you that?"
"Sometimes I'd take walks around the neighborhood with my daughter. I heard them whispering things about me. Luckily I haven't heard anyone say they disliked my daughter or anything along the lines of the things they say about me" That's so sad.
"Why do you care what they think of you? They are not your friends and they don't know you so it's stupid to gossip about someone you. You never know what's going on in their life. I hate gossip, rumors, and things like that. Plus, I think your just a little misunderstood." He looked a little surprised. "Sorry I-"
"It's fine. That's the first time anyone has been on my side, thanks."
"You never know..." We heard a growl behind us. It was a bear. "Seriously!" We got up and ran. We ran for a while but the bear was still right behind us. I pulled back an ice arrow and turned while still running. I aim and hit the bear in the head. The bear froze and Joanan sliced through the ice and bear with the sword. We stopped and caught our breath. It was dark out.
"Should we go back to the cave? The bear won't be there anymore."
"I guess" he says. We went back and made sure there were no more bears in the cave. We sat back down by the fire. It was really hot earlier, but now it's cold. I put my shirt back on and so did Joanan.
We sit by the fire.
"Why is it so cold at night! I liked this place when I first got here, but now, not so much."
"I feel the same way" he says. As the night went on it got colder. I began to shiver. I felt his arm wrap around me and he pulled me close. He was so...warm. I got as close as possible and fell asleep.
I woke up and it was warm which means the sun is just beginning to rise. I realized I was still laying on him. I was going to get up, but I was too comfortable. Why am I doing this? He's my friend, but I barely know him. He seems like a nice guy though so...maybe I'll just stay for a while.
