I woke up and saw that Joanna wasn't next to me. I sit up and see that he was in the baby blue chair in the corner. He was clearly thinking about something. Whatever it was is stressing him out and making him frown. He hadn't realized I was up yet. I got up out of the bed. He made a different face pretending like he was fine. I walk over to him.

"How did you sleep?" He asked.

"Good. How was yours?"

"Fine" he said.

"Joanan, are you ok?" I ask.

"Yes" he said a little too quickly.

"No you're not...You don't have to hide anything from me" I say.

"Yes I-" he sighed. "Fine, I'm not, but it's nothing new, so don't worry about it" he told me. He got up and opened the door. "Let's go" I followed him. Maybe I'll get him to talk to me about it another time. The next room was a giant cage. In the middle of the cage was a human...thing. It had a human body with a long snake-like tail. Joanan took the bag off of his back and handed me a bow and arrows.

"Can you aim well?" He asks.

"Yes" I've been good with a bow and arrow since I was 8.

"Good. You'll put it to good use then." He grabbed a sword. I just realized this bag is endless. He put the bag on his back. I readied my arrow. The snake man stood up and looked at us. He was about 7ft tall...not scary at all... "Don't let him get close" Joanan told me. The snake man hissed then attacked Joanan. He dodged and jabbed at its stomach. I pull back the arrow and aim for its head. I let go and it pinned it square in the middle of its forehead. It hissed in pain. Joanan took this distraction to cut off its head. It fell to the ground and died. Joanan turned and looked at me a surprised.

"What?" I ask.

"How did you get him on the first shot? That was amazing!"

"Thankyou" I say. He smiled. "Also, make sure the head is far from the body"

"Good call" That might have been the first time I've seen him smile. It was a small one, progress is good though. I smile back. Suddenly the floor disappeared from under us.

"Again!" I yell. Joanan laughed. "What are you laughing for?"

"Nothing..." He said trying to hide his laugh. I fold my arms, annoyed.
