Promise

Chapter Twelve

The last few weeks I been hanging out with Ken or with my friends when he not home or help Mom with Logan. But most of time with Ken then my friends. But lately I been makings promise to him and my parents. You should have seen their face when I made few promise to them. It's like they don't recognize me or believe theirs eyes that I'm going back to the girl I used to be before something change me.

It's the last week of July and that means summer will be over and it's be right back to school. And it's my last year of high school before going off to college and I'm still looking at the college that I'm go to.

"So what's going with you and Ken." Carrie ask. I'm hanging out with my friends we're at Nathan's house. Cole is here too, but I keep catching him looking at me. But when I show up I thought he forgot what happened couple weeks ago but he didn't. He ask if I made mind up yet and honestly I'm still kind of confused with him but on the hand I feel like I know who to choose but I don't want to hurt the other by picking that person. They playing video games and Carrie is doing her nail to a light purple color. We sitting at the kitchen table.

"Nothing." is all I say. But when I take a quick glance in the living room at Cole. He have this unexpressed look on him but then quickly look away.

"Are you sure there nothing going on."

"Yes I'm sure." I look her to see that she have this mischievous smile. She was finishing the finger nails on her hands. I wanted to know why but knowing her she will try to denying it. But I have this feeling she up to something or planning on it. So I change the subject for now. "Have you heard from Kasie?"

"Yeah. She say will be home sometime tomorrow. So we all going to hang out when she get home."

"Okay." is all I said before watching the guys playing their game.

"Hey. You promise you wouldn't complain what we watch, remember." Ken said as he turn on this horror movie which I hate.

I was going to complain but he's right I did promise I won't. "Fine, just so you know this feel like torture. and by the way if I get nightmare I'm blaming you for it."

"Alright, so I take it you don't like horror movies?" he laugh little.

"Nope, not one bit. especially this one." the movie is Invisible Man. I don't know what it's about but I look it up and seeing the comment from people saying they it's bit terrifying to watch but other disagree. So I don't if take the side of the people who don't recommend it bit of scary or the others that say it not that scary at all. But I will find out when I'm watching it.

"Okay. Before we start the movie what do you want order pizza?"

"Sure." while he went ahead and order a large pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, and extra cheese on it.

While waiting for the pizza we talked to pass the time.

"So what you did today. Stay home and watch kids shows with your little brother." he laughed at that part.

"No." I scoffed."I hanged out with Carrie, Cole and Nathan at his place." I tell what we did over even the part where Carrie ask what's going between the two of us.

"And what did you say to her."

"That's there nothing going on." I said cautiously. "But before you say anything might I tell you she has this weird smile like she up to something." I know she is, she trying to find away to get his attention and go out with him and then maybe do what she did with the rest of my friends and forget about me most the time or leave me out doing things together or something that have nothing to do with me.

"Hmm." is all he say before talking again. "Did he hear you guys talking." Talking about Cole.

"Yeah. But he have this unexpressed look and then went back to playing video game."

"Did he even talks to you at all." I nodded my head no. "He probably giving you space or waiting for you to make up your mind."

"Yeah, probably." I just wanna makes up my mind already. Just ripped off the bandage quickly if you wanna get it over with.

"Are you okay?" he have this concern look on his face when he's is looking at me.

I nodded and change the subject. He been talking about his day helping his aunt redecorating house for someone out in Rose City. Until the pizza delivery person came and we started the movie, which I hate and would rather watch anything besides horror movies. But that's how we spend on our night watching few horror movie before switching to action movie.
