High school was the place of rumors and drama. Justin and I promised each other that nobody would ever know about the night of the 5th.

Austin and his friend Kyle came up and sat with us at lunch. Before Kayleigh got to the table, Austin admitted to something. He liked Kayleigh, he knew how bad Thomas treated her so he wanted to be the one to make everything better.

Kayleigh had just broken up with Thomas 2 days earlier but she told nobody but me. When Kayleigh sat down, I told her to come with me.

We ran to the bathroom and talked.

"Austin." I said, nearly out of breath because the bathroom was all the way down the hall and we sprinted pretty fast.

"What about him?" Kayleigh replied.

"He likes you. He knows about Thomas somehow." I told her with a serious face.

"I know. I told him. Austin and I got together yesterday, I was gonna tell you, I promise, I was just waiting for the right time!" she said trying her hardest to prove her point, but I stormed out, furious because we promised we'd tell each other everything, no matter what, no waiting for the right time or anything, but she didn't get the memo after 5 years of being best friends.

I grabbed Justin and we got in my car and drove off, he didn't question it, but he knew. Austin told him. My phone at this point as about as many notifications as a celebrity has from Austin and Kayleigh trying to get me to talk.

I've always been stubborn, Justin knew, I get it from my mom. I parked in front of the hotel that my aunt worked at. Him and I just sat in the parking lot while I told him everything. He knew I'd been having many depression issues lately, so he just comforted me. About an hour later, we went back to school and it was 8th period. I didn't speak to Kayleigh for a while, but that didn't stop her from trying to get ahold of me.

Justin stayed at my house for a while because my parents were off on their yearly 6 month vacation since they're both retired, so I'm home alone a lot. His mom was okay with it because she trusted nothing would happen but little did she know something already did.

It had been about a month since I'd spoke to Kayleigh or Austin, so Kayleigh pulled her classic stunt and got a "new best friend" which we all knew was temporary since she'd done it many of times before to many other girls. This time, it just so happened to be Rebecca.
