Liz's POV
I was tied up and gagged in the basement. Calum and Luke were beside me and I heard Talia in the other room. I couldn't speak or yell, but I would if I could to let Alexa know we were here with her. I know that Ashton left her by herself because she couldn't stand being alone. Alexa, Sam, and Michael were someone upstairs or hopefully, for their sake, out of the house or trying to call the police.
I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I looked over at Calum and Luke and they looked just as frightened as I was. Ashton walked through the door and walked over to Luke. He pulled the gag out of his mouth and untied him.
"Get up and go over to the other room. I'm tired of Talia hyperventilating over there." Ashton demanded. Luke stood up and walked to the other room with Ashton behind him. I looked at Calum and nudged my head over to the door. Ashton's famiy never used it, it was always locked; but it was there, and it could be our only chance of getting out of here and getting help. Calum caught on and nodded his head.
Sam's POV
The three of us slowly walked down the stairs, not making any noise. We were headed to the front door and almost there.
"Shit, I forgot my phone; anyone else have theirs?" I whispered. Alexa and Michael shook their head no.
"Get outside, I'm going to get it. I'll be quick, I promise." I said. Michael nodded and Alexa and him got to the door. They opened it up and stepped outside. I ran back up the stairs but felt someone grab my hand from the around the corner. I jumped but relaxed when I saw Ashton.
"Ashton, what's going on?" I asked him.
"I don't know, but I do know that someone is in this house." He said. Ashton pulled me behind him and we walked into his room. He led me into his closet and in the crawlspace.
"Where is everyone?" I asked.
"I have no idea." Ashton said, shaking his head. He looked like he was crying. He was really shaken up. I pulled him into a hug and he nuzzled his head into my neck.
"I'm sorry. If I would've known this would have happened I wouldn't have offered to come here." Ashton cried.
"Do not apologize. You didn't know, this isn't your fault." I told him, rubbing his back.
"Michael and Alexa were with me, they went outside. I forgot my phone in the bathroom and was coming up to get it so we could call for help. Should we go get them?" I asked.
"Stay here, I don't want anything to happen to you." Ashton told me.
"Please, Ash. What if something happens to you? You shouldn't be alone." I told him.
"Trust me, I'll be fine. I promise." He got up and put the shelf back over the crawl space and walked out. I heard him slowly walk down the stairs. I pulled my knees to my chest and lay my head down on them. I hope Ashton would be okay.
