Elizabeth's pov
My journey home didn't take as long as it usually would, that wasn't good, I'd prefer to stay out longer but I can't let dad find out I've been to meet my Mum; he'd be angry but I don't see why, she's a lovely woman. As I pulled into the drive way I saw dads car in the garage. I put my break on my car, got out and locked the door. I made my way into the house and hung my bag up ready for when I head out again.
"Where have you been Elizabeth?"
Dad asked as I entered the kitchen where he was throwing things around."I went to the shops, had to get some treats for the kids in drama tonight. I promised them a reward for doing so well on Saturday" I lied to my dad, I was going to get them something but I was popping into the shops before I head to my studio.
"Don't you lie to me!" Dad raised his voice. I swallowed hard as I took a step back and my back hit the wall behind me.
"Dad I am being honest here, I had just been to the shops, I've just came home to collect some paperwork and the scripts for the next play the class will be preforming" I said forcefully defending myself. I had enough of my dad treating me like crap when I am old enough to make my own decisions.
"Elizabeth Bails your lying. I think you've forgotten i can read you. You can either tell me where you've been or I'll make you tell me" dad threatened, it was nothing new; I was used to it. My back was against the wall but I stood tall and confidently.
"I've not got time for this" I turned to head out the kitchen door only to be grabbed my my hair by my dad, when he let go I turned around while I tried to hide my fear.
"Now where have you been?" Dad asked sternly.
"The shops" I stuck to my story and closed my eyes as I knew what was coming, he slapped me round the face.
"Are you going to tell me the truth? Or do you need more punishments for lying to me?" Dad asked folding his arms as my hands held my cheek.
"Why won't you just believe I've been to the shops. Why can't I have my own life! I'm 21" I stood up for myself which was the worst thing I could have done, Dad was angry he began hitting me saying he was only teaching me a lesson, tears rolled down both my cheeks running my make-up. Dad finally left me alone, I went to my room in pain and entered bathroom where I washed my face, old bruises on my cheeks and new ones forming. I dried my face a re-did my make-up ready to go back out tonight
This was my life, I was used to it
