Elizabeth's pov

I had been out of hospital for two weeks now and I'm feeling a lot better. I have been staying at Debbie's since then and I've loved being with my sister and my niece and nephew. I've spent quite abit of time with Joe and I have to admit I've started to get feelings for him, he's not the man everyone see's, I've seen both sides of him when I've been in the pub but when we're alone he's different. I had been helping out at the pub too which has stopped me from being bored outta my mind. The police have been questioning my dad still but I've not heard anything.

"You okay Beth'? You seem out of it?" Mum asked as I leant on the bar staring at my phone.

"I'm just wondering why I've not heard anything about the case. If they've released him he will come for me, I'm scared. I don't know how much longer I can act as if I'm fine when I'm not" I exclaimed.

"They will be out of their right mind if they let him go. They've got all the evidence in the world. All the bruises you had when Debs' took you in. He will get what he deserves." Mum nodded convincingly. I knew all about what had did to Mum and about her secret son. Only myself and Harriet knew about her son, he was probably dads child too. I knew Mum would love to see dad getting what he deserves and so do I.

"What is he gets let go?" I asked frowning knowing it was highly likely.

"Your part of the family now, we will protect you. That's what Dingles do after all" Mum smiled as my phone rang.

"Hello Elizabeth speaking" I answered the phone

"Hello Elizabeth, we are so sorry to tell you this but we've let your father go and we're dropping the case Their wasn't enough evidence." The police woman from before spoke I froze, they were letting him go, they couldn't

"Not enough evidence! What about all the bruises he gave me. I told you everything he had done to me and your letting him go! Your unbelievable" I held back tears.

"I'm Sorry theirs nothing more we can do" The Officer said and I shook my head before hanging up the phone.

"They've let him go! They let him go" I repeated myself but raising my voice on the second time.

"They can't do that" Mum said shocked.

"Well they did" I shook my head wanting it all to be a dream but sadly it wasn't a dream. It was 100% real life which meant no escape
