Sarah's pov

I woke up in hospital with Mum and Gran by my side. I only remembered their was a fire in the village hall I was with jack.

"So you don't remember who got you out?" Mum asked me and I just shook my head. Surely it was firefighters who pulled me out By I could be wrong.

"Who got me out Mum?" I asked, I looked to Granny Charity who looked upset.

"Beth' she pulled you and jack out and then collapsed next to you. She's suffered a burn on her arm but not extremely bad and she breathed in a lot of smoke." Mum explained to me. I looked shocked, she could have died just to save Jack and I, she could have damaged her voice.

"Can I go and see her or sit with her?" I asked hopefully.

"We will have to check with a doctor" Granny Charity told me and stood up to leave. She left my hospital room and I was left with Mum.

"I'm So happy your play" Mum got all soppy with me. She wrapped her arms around me gently and kissed my forehead too.

"Mum" I wined as she continued to hug me. The doctor allowed me to go and sit with Elizabeth so Mum pushed me in a wheelchair through to Elizabeth's room, she looked like she was sleeping, she looked peaceful.

Elizabeth's pov

It must have been that evening when I woke up, Sarah was sat by me holding my hand.

"Thank you" Sarah whispered when she realised I had woken up. I coughed a little

"I couldn't let my niece and nephew burn could I. Then who would I be able to tickle and teach to sing?" I asked Sarah as a doctor walked in

"Miss Bails, good to see you awake but I'm afraid you won't be doing any singing for a few weeks. The amount is smoke you inhaled could have killed you. It damaged your lungs but they will recover, you shouldn't be speaking so much. You also have a chest infection" the doctor explained to me and I frowned. How was I going to teach my drama classes and singing lessons if I can't talk or sing.

"How am I meant to teach my drama classes and singing lessons?" I asked abit forcefully

"Can't you get someone to cover?" Th doctor asked and I laughed slightly.

"It's my studios. I own it. I can't afford staff. Not yet" I grumbled knowing I'd have to figure something out before Tuesday, I knew cancelling the classes wasn't a option and neither was stopping talking, but the question was; what was I going to do?

"Nothing this bad was ever meant to happen here, things like this follow me around" I sighed when Mum had joined us in my hospital room.

"Maybe your just jinxed?" Mum asked with a joke, and I frowned. Maybe I was jinxed and things are always out to hurt the ones I truly care about.
