"So how you and your kid?"mason ask me. I smiled thinking about Zayda. She was with zable at her house.
"She's good. Her daddy didn't visit her last week like he promised"I said.
"Who is her father?"mason ask.
"His name is Zion. Zion Martin"I said. He look at his phone and chuckle.
"Oh, is he a uhhhh doctor?"he ask.
"Yeah how you know"I said.
"Saw in the paper that he attacked one of his nurses and was fired"
"One of those nurses was me"I sigh. He shook his head.
"Must of have problems huh"mason said.
"Yeah"I said.
We didn't do much. We just sat on the couch talking and talking. "Time for me to go"I look at the time.
"For real. Leaving me"mason said.
"Yeah. I have to pick up Zayda before Zable call a hundreds times"I got up from the couch. Mason pulled my arm a bit smiling.
"I'm sorry that i pulled your arm. I'm just lonly"he said. "With my wife gone, I'm alone"
"Do yall have kids?"I ask him.
"No she's always gone, so we don't have time to make love or have a baby"he said.
"That's sad"I frowned.
"Can i get your number? I can take you out to lunch or break fast"mason said.
"Uhhh, yeah sure"I said. I gave him my number. "Just don't text me sometimes"
"Why? Have a man"
"No"I laugh. "See you later"I waved goodbye. I walk to the door feeling relieve that I'm leaving. Not because of mason. I just want to see my baby.
MASON
I watch as zoya walk out the building leaving me. I'm not mad. I understand she have a kid and business to take care of.
"What you doing talking to Zion girl?"One of my friends ask me.
"She fascinating, isn't she"I smiled.
"You into her? Don't you have a girl and a wife"he said.
"I'm like a lion. If one pride ain't hunting or ain't doing their job, move to the next pride. Protect them, provide for them"I said.
