Chapter 41

ZOYA

"Your nanny is coming"I said to Zayda as I held her in my arms. She was fully away looking out the window at Zion who was mowing the lawn. "See dada"I pointed out the window.

"Da Da"Zayda said as she waved her arms. I kept thinking to myself, why is Zion so distance from me?

Zion been having these weird dreams lately. He will wake up screaming stop hurting her. It would be so weird cause his eyes would still be close. Then he will lay back down and sleep.

Now, he's cleaning up around the house, cooking, cutting the grass every week. Something ain't right.

I was in the kitchen making Zayda something to eat before I leave. I have a meeting with someone special today. Can't tell Zion tho. I gave Zayda her food then walk upstairs so I can get my purse and phone.

"You bout to leave?"Zion ask me as I was grabbing some things off the dresser.

"Yeah, I have a meeting"I said.

"A meeting?"he narrowed his eyebrows. "Is this about wedding ideas?"

"I'm not walking down the aisle till you divorce Kim"I walk out the room. I walk down the stairs going to the kitchen. I kiss Zayda cheeks and walk out the house.

Later

I walk in the restaurant looking for Venus. Yeah her. At first I didn't like her ass cause she was friends with Kimberly. And she never liked me, so why do she want to see me now.

"You must be Venus"I said.

"Yeah"she said. "Take a seat please"

I sat down settling my purse on the ground. "Why you schedule this meeting between us? You don't like me"

"But my brother loves you"she said. "I see his whole mood change when he with you"

"I know, he's happy with Zayda but also sad that he can't get Ophelia"I said.

"Well, he can always see her"Venus said. I wanted to ask her a serious question about Zion.

"Did Zion had a abusive life?"I ask.

"How'd you know?"

"He will wake up screaming saying stop hurting her, let her go, leave her alone"I said.

Venus look down at her plate and sniffle. "He's talking about me"-"Our father was an abuser to us. He beated our mother to death"she sniffle.

"One day........"

Flashback

Our mother was on the couch watching t.v. with us. She didn't feel like cooking cause the oven was broke from what happen last night. A fight broke out last night.

That day, my mom wanted my father to take us to our family diner so we can eat. But he had other plans. He came home drunk and wild. When I was on the couch with Zion watching t.v, my mom was trying to get my father away from us. Me and zion watch as she was being beat rapidly. I felt so sad for just standing there, I could of did something but i couldn't. All of a sudden, he took out a gun and shot my mom in the chest. He didn't call the police. He told us to get our stuff and come with him. So we left Ohio and went to Boston with him leaving our mother who was dead.

The night when we move into our new house, he kept touching me in front of Zion.

"Dad what are you doing?"I kept pushing him off.

"You look exactly like your mother. Beautiful girl"he kept rubbing his hands on my private area. So when I kick him where he didn't like it, he beated me.

"Dad, stop leave her alone!!"Zion kept screaming for him to stop. "Stop please dad!!"

He wouldn't budge. He didn't rape me at all but kept beating me.

Flashback over

"Zion is probably having nightmares of what happened when we was teens"Venus said. "It happen like it was yesterdays"she bust out crying causing people to look at her and me.

"Vee, we have to go"I grab my bag and hers. "Come on"I help her out the chair. She was still crying like a baby. I would be crying too.

I never knew this happened in Zion life. So his real mother died but who is the lady that stayed with his father. She didn't have no resembles to Zion and Venus.

I really want to solve this mystery. Zion father should go to hell.
