~ Chapter #39: Preparations ~
So many strings were cutting off his circulation of blood.
The mall's numerous assorted shopping bags graced his arms, one after the other, as he and his partner were going to nearly every store in search of things they could use at the graduation party. The plastic, the rope, the paper. They were all going to make red welts develop on his arms due to the weighty things pulling gravity over to be their friend, but-- hey, anything to make Eddie happy.
The Latino seemed to be giving more enthusiasm into this graduation than the person who was actually receiving his diploma tomorrow.
The Latino had been throwing money around with flicks of the wrist, as if it were nothing. He had been purchasing the flashy stuff that corresponded with their commune school's trademark colours; envy blue and shimmering gold.
Twenty dollars here, ninety dollars there--this was beginning to be lucrative for the mall in its entirety. Growing more and more worried as more and more contrasting bags found their way onto his and Eddie's arms, the Russian stopped for a moment and stood at the fountain in the center of the mall.
"Eddie, I think we're good now." Aleks murmured in a tangle of a sigh, and plopped down onto the concrete railing of the fountain with exhaustion. Once seated he let the bags' handles slide off of his arms and onto the floor gently, and slowly moved and twisted his arms to take a gander at the redness tainting the once pale skin that masked his meager muscles, his mouth in a degenerating slant as Eddie looked over his shoulder at the teen sitting now down.
"I don't think so," The Russian had distantly heard as he checked his torso's limbs out with a dazed mind, "You need an outfit for the party, I know that much."
"I can just wear a simple shirt and pants, Eddie. Don't spend anymore of your money on me, come on..."
"No, this is your big day, Ally!" The fawn skinned one chimed happily, while turning to the brunette now peering up at him. "You only graduate from high school once, you know."
Mumbling, "Unless I'm reincarnated..."
This merely earned a playful narrow of the eyes, formerly, a glare to be sent his way.
"Fine." Eddie had said with a snippet of aggravation on his breath, "You'll only graduate from high school once, for this lifetime."
Aleks smiled cheekily. "'Kay." He simply said, unraveling an overpowering grin to mask Eddie's once perturbed facade.
"All right, now, come on, Aleks. We need to shop for your outfit." The Latino said, and grinned even more when Aleks sighed, but still stood up to cooperate. After, he nodded a single time towards the Russian, winked some, and began walking again, towards a fancy clothes store.
Reluctantly Aleks followed after, and looked around, soon calling out to Eddie when something peaked his interest higher than the store they were now entering.
"Can we just go to that discount store beside of this place?"
~
"Don't worry, Ally, it looks great on you!"
"It does, actually,"
"I agree, his aura calls for soft colours."
"Yeah!"
Aleks now felt like he was a tormented model being judged like a piece of meat. Being dressed in clothes that were thrown his way, to please the others' eyes. It gave his subconscious a nominal amount of happiness to see his boyfriend glowering with content just because of his wardrobe, but he wasn't a flashy person; could he not just wear his usual attire under his robe while at the graduation ceremony, or at the subsequent party? Earlier that day, almost immediately when his eyes blinked themselves open, a giddy Latino of the excited nature hurriedly told the Russian to get dressed, for they were going to buy some small things at the mall and such, to get ready for the early graduation ceremony, and party occurring tomorrow... But Aleks didn't think it would be like this, with Eddie acting like a critique and picking out the most abnormal, eye sore-esque things.
