Remus stared up at the gigantic marble building in front of him. It seemed to tower above the rest of the tiny stores and minuscule market stalls. This had to be the place his father had been chatting about earlier, Gringotts, the wizarding bank that held more gold and secrets than one could imagine. The sheer size of the building was enough to leave a lasting impression on the young boy.
As the small family walked through the giant oak doors, Remus felt as if someone was watching him, he turned around and saw an older woman who looked like she had a lemon permanently stuck in her mouth, she appeared to be glaring at his father's turned head and muttering something to her son, who was she?
"Remus, hurry up, we're on a tight schedu-oh" Lyall started to say as he realized who Remus was staring at; he quickly grabbed Hope and Remus and protectively dragged them into the bank at a slightly faster pace. "We need to hurry-let's go, now!"
Remus looked up at his father quizzically, did they know that sour faced woman and her annoyed son? Why were they staring at his parents like they were some type of monsters? Sadly he didn't have a chance to ask those questions because Lyall had just handed the goblin he had been talking to a key-wait? A goblin? The goblin glared at him and he backed away, could they read minds? No way.
"Come on Remus, Hope?" Lyall said, his wife and son seemed very reluctant to follow the strange creature, "it's just a quick walk, and ride, you'll be fine."
"A ride?!" Hope squeaked, the only banks she had ever been to were muggle banks with muggle tellers and an overall muggle way of service, this was more than new to her.
"don't worry dear!" Lyall said "we'll be in a mine cart! It's perfectly safe!"
"A mine cart!" Remus said, slightly horrified
"Okay... Fine." Lyall said in defeat "I'll go and you two can wait up here" Remus sighed in relief "But!" Lyall said "you have to go down the next time we go to gringotts!"
"Okay!" Remus smiled, his father was a total pushover and he would probably never have to go near a mine cart, much less think of one ever again.
Remus' smile turned to a frown when he noticed that the sour lady, her brooding-slightly familiar looking-son, and a taller man with the same jet black hair walk into gringotts.
"Sirius and I will wait here" The sour lady said, her voice sounded like watered down venom. As the man walked off the sour woman stared talking loudly to one of the wizards who was sitting nearby, "It's an awful shame what this world has come to," she sneered "sometimes I wish my dear cousin Araminta had gotten that muggle hunting bill through the ministry, maybe I should start up a petition!"
Remus felt a tug around his waist as his mother pulled him a bit closer on the bench, he looked around and saw a few people scooting away from the sour woman and her venomous voice. Remus looked up and saw the boy who was sitting next to the sour lady do the same thing.
