I followed Cassius down the long winding stacks of books. The wood was details and gorgeous, with winding and twisting designs encompassing every shelf. What looked like giant fireflies, hovered near the tall roof of the library, they glowed a bright yellow, illuminating the path.

"Where are we going?" I questioned, running slightly to walk by Cassius's side. He glanced down towards me, raising an eyebrow.

"Somewhere there's stone" He called over his shoulder. He turned back and kept taking strides further into the large library. I looked around at the books, noticing some of the titles displayed. I chuckled as I came across the first edition of huckleberry Finn . It had been a long time since I had read that one. Then I moved my gaze to the lower sections of the stacks, I couldn't read most of the titles, they all seemed to be in a different language. I looked back up, noticing I was falling behind, I ran a bit to catch up to Cassius. The taps of my feet echoed through the room. I stopped, halting my movements,

"What?" Cassius called, noticing I had stopped moving. I looked down to my feet,

"Please don't tell me your about to freak out!" He sounded worried, sympathetic even. I would ask him about that later but for now,

"I can not deal with you freaking out right now!". I raised an eyebrow, of course he wouldn't know. I just met him. He wouldn't know about the nights I spent crying on my own at the orphanage because I was the only one I could rely on. I had to take care of myself. He wouldn't know that I vowed never to break in front of anyone. I squeezed my eyes shut, ridding myself of the thoughts,

"Stone, you were looking for stone" I looked back up at him.

"Yeah, but it could take a while, this library is mainly carved from wood" he shot me a confused look.

"No, look. We are literally standing on stone!" I shouted, excited at my discovery. Cassius glanced down to his feet, seeing that he was indeed standing on stone.

"I'm not sure the tower talks through the floor" he said, raising an eyebrow at me. I bent down, running my hand across the rocky surface,

"Worth a try" I stated. He nodded his head , opening his mouth to speak,

"Hey, tower!" He shouted at the floor. I sat crouched opposite Cassius, both of us waiting for a sign that it had worked, then the floor began to move. Stood up, stumbling backwards as the skeletal figure from before emerged out of the floor.

"What is it that your heart desires?" It's voiced boomed through the echoing library. The vibrations shook through my body all the way to my chest as it spoke,

"We need to get to the master bedroom, directions?" Cassius asked the figure. His voice was steady and firm, though every time the figure emerged I could feel the slight tremble of my hands.

"To get to where you want to go first you must save what has been locked for years" the tower spoke, this time more quietly. It began to merge back into the floor though as it did I could have sworn it's eyes were watching me.

"No! No no no, don't start with the riddles! We just need to get to the master bedroom, no detours!" Cassius yelled at the floor, the last of the figure disappeared as he screamed. He slumped his shoulders, sighing, he dropped back against the bookshelf.

To get to where you want first you must save what has been locked for years

I repeated the words in my head. It had to be something on this level, seeing as we couldn't get anywhere else. I began thinking of the possibilities, what was it we had to find? My brows furrowed as I thought, then,

"Don't bother, I know exactly what it's talking about" Cassius sighed in defeat, I raised a questioning brow,

"It's said the same thing before, it says it quit a lot actually. Usually we just ignore it and decide to go somewhere else" Cassius mumbled.

"Well, have you ever listened to it? You know, actually done what it asks?" I spoke in a sarcastic tone, gesturing to the tower as I spoke.

"Of course I have, Everet and I followed it once, it's one of the open rooms on this floor, we call it the goo room. There is a girl on the other side of the goo, only there is no way to get to her. The moment you step inside, the goo becomes acidic and turns into some weird ass monster. There's no way to get to her" he explained. I thought for a moment, tossing his words around in my head. The tower had said locked not trapped, so if we had to get to the girl, maybe the key would work. I felt a twinge of heat on my waist, where the key sat, I felt it heat up slightly as I thought of it. Just like I had done with the dream, I wonder if it will work in real life, god I hope it does.
