"How do we get to the goo room from here?" I called, voice running through the tower. Cassius glanced up towards me, eyebrow raised,

"Did you not hear a thing I said?" He asked.

"Yes, but I have an idea, a good one" I lowered my eyebrows, smirking slightly. I tried to act confident, like I knew what I was doing. I felt I slight tremble run through my hands, I stuffed them into my cloak.

"Fine, come on" he said, sighing. He began walking further into the library, I followed close behind him. We went down twists and curves and forks in the paths of library, the further we ventured, the darker the halls became, the less light I had to see. Soon enough we were walking in pitch black darkness. I hugged my cloak tighter around my body, flinching at any blink of light, all I had to show me the way was the resounding rhythmic sound of Cassius's footsteps ahead of me. Just as I was about to speak up, ask where we were going, the sound stopped. I halted all movement, standing frozen in the dark, waiting. Then there was a loud breaking sound in front of me, followed by a blinding light. I squeezed my eyes shut as the light surrounded me, there was a tug on my arm,

"Come on!" It was Cassius, he pulled me through the threshold of the door. I squinted, opening my eyes slightly, then I shot them open wide as I took in the large landscape in front of me. I looked to my feet, I was standing on bright green grass, a small stream of water making its way down to a river flowed close by. There were large trees with roots the size of elephants lining the edges of the river, they stood as tall as the clouds, which where small and fluffy above me. The sun glistened down between the breaks in the leaves , forming circles and specks of light on the ground. I looked back to Cassius, who wore a seemingly proud smile as he began wading through the water of the river,

"How did we get here? What is this place? And isn't it night time? Weren't we in the tower?" I fired questions out as fast as I could, slipping off my boots, carrying them in one hand, to join Cassius in the water,

" Well, we walked through a door, and came here, I call it the jungle room. It's always day time in here, so it isn't a very good place to spend the night, and we are still in the tower, just a different part of it"  He called back to me. The cold flowing water wrapped around my legs as we pushed forward, upstream.

"And, where are we going?" I questioned, joining him at his side.

"To the goo room, there is a short cut through here, at the top of the stream" he spoke matter of factly. He sounded so sure of where he was going every time I asked, like he had mapped every inch of this place, just how long had he been here? He said this place was a maze, but if so many sacrifices have been here, then obviously they would have mapped it at some point. I wonder if Everet has the same knowledge as Cassius,

"How do you think everyone else is?" I raised en eyebrow at him, hoping he would answer my question.

"Not sure, Everet knows this place as well as I do, but as you may have noticed, the tower doesn't always point you in a straight line" He grumbled out as we continued. The sun was hot on my back, burning into my layers of clothes. I reached up to the clasp on my cloak, undoing it and pulling it off my shoulders. I hesitated slightly before I chucked it off into the grass. I stumbled back as a root from a tree pulled it beneath the ground, I bumped into Cassius, who was laughing.

"Watch your step kid" was all he said before his smile faded. We had reached what seemed to be the end of the river, it was a wall that was painted to depict the rest of the landscape, with the roiling trees and powder white clouds. Cassius slammed his side into the wall, once, twice, then there was a click. The wall opened up to a small, elevator looking contraption. It looked like it could barely fit the both of us,

"Get in"
