Snow Way Out

"Heather! Get into the air and look for an entrance to a Snow Wraith cave. Now!" Ryker yelled and Heather took off on Windshear. "She's not coming back for the next few hours, is she?" Ann asked him. "I don't know, she better does or else she is in trouble." Ryker said with a grin on his face. "What will you do then?" Ann crossed her arms, waiting for the typical answer he would give her. "You'll see." "You are so weird..." Ann walked off to get to work. Ryker would always try to keep this to himself, just to enjoy the thought.

They prepared a lot of things back in the camp. Setting up tents, readying the cages if they capture a Snow Wraith, stocking all the weapons and arrows and much more. "She better find the cave! These dragons are hibernating during the summer months, which is our best chance to get the tooth." Ryker said with a grim. "Snow Wraiths hibernate? I didn't know that." "You didn't? Well, there's much more you will learn around here, sis!" He encouraged her and she smiled to him.

"It is still very cold here, though it's summer." "Of course, on Glacier Island the seasons are turned around. The heavy snow falls in the summer." "That seems odd to me, though." She said while shaking a bit of the cold. Ryker saw that, got Ann's cloak and put it around her. He is very protective and caring for her. As a couple of hours went by, Heather returned with no results.

"What are we here for anyway?" Heather spoke up as she warmed herself up around the campfire. "We are here to do business!" Ryker annoyingly spoke out. "But what exactly am I looking for in the sky? A cave, I know, but what are we looking for in those caves?" She got a little impatient with Ryker, and he got annoyed with her. "Both of you, stop it! We are here to find a Snow Wraith. Viggo has sent us here with the mission to obtain a rare object we need in the future." Ann took a sip from her drink as she tried to take in as much heat from the fire as possible.

Two days later, Heather was sent again to look for the cave while Ryker prepared everything to go on foot to find it. Heather came back and reported that she did not find the cave, but Ryker thought something else. "I think we should concentrate on the coastal areas." Heather said and got Ann doubting about her again. "We head for the mountain!" He ordered.

"I told you, I already searched up there. I didn't see a thing." Heather tried to persuade his mind. "From the air. I do things the old-fashioned way. Boots on the ground." Ryker said to her. "But-" Heather mumbled. "We're heading for the mountain. You have a problem with that?" He said strictly. "Of course not. After you." Heather let him go first. "Move out!" He ordered.

As they were on their way, Ann came closer to Ryker, trying to talk to him without Heather hearing it. "Ryker, what is she trying to do?" "I don't know, I'll just follow my own plans. But fine, keep a close eye on her. Let's see what she is up to." He said to her and Ann nodded. As Ann was keeping a close eye on what the Berserker was doing, Havòk was told to stay close to her, just in case if something was happening.

At the top of the mountain, Ryker noticed something he kind of was expecting already: dragon foot sprints in the fresh snow. "Hmm... Dragon Riders..." He growled. "What's up, Ryker?" Ann asked him. "The Riders are here." "What? How did they know we were here? Somehow, I knew this was going to happen." Ann hissed under her breath. "No clue, but it's time we take them down by surprise." He said with a smirk on his face. Ann knew what he was talking about and joined in on the grin.

Ann led the Hunters into position to strike, but a noise gave them away as they tried to ambush the Riders by shooting arrows their way. That noise came from Windshear. "Behind us!" Hiccup yelled and Toothless shot a plasma blast to stop the arrows from coming in. Stormfly spun around and shot some spines, forcing the Hunters to run back out and jump to the ground to duck. Ryker stood up with irritation that Windshear gave away that they were ambushing the Riders.
