I had been in New Orleans for a month now. All of my boxes were sent over from moving agency that I hired. That was not the plan thou. I was supposed to return for one week and spend time with my best friends while Letting them down gently with ease. But Since my drive to New Orleans that night; I never look back. I did not even get to tell Mrs. Martinez bye, but I still get text messages from Gloria. She's the only one I get a text from back home. No one calls or texts me anymore Even Alek messages stopped.
As I sit in my office lost in the marvelous view of the Mississippi River. I'm grateful for great work schedule; Monday to Friday eight to six, No Er and my own set of patients. This has always been my dream but I did not know it was going to come with a price.

I lost myself. I lost him and my heart is broken. My perfect job included a personal assistant with twice the salary that what I made back in Texas. But was it worth the agony and the pain ?
"Dr. De Campo, your two o clock appointment is here." Linda my secretary interrupts my thoughts.
"Yes, of course, Linda. Can you give me her folder? Thank you."
Did I mention my staff loves me and not the fake love. Yea, I change my attitude became more understanding and less demanding.
Linda was in her late sixties and was ready to retire had tons of grand-babies and I had tons of applications hitting my desk daily.
I open the folder and in shock to see who was standing in front of me. Joyce.
I gave her a sincere smile, I wanted to run up to hug her but I waited back waiting for her move.
"Gia, Im sorry. We miss you. Emma is also coming to New Orleans soon. We were miserable without you. I'm not applying for application as your secretary. .. I just need to see you face to face ... Your not selfish.. You had been warning us for the past five years that you planned to leave once your contract was up but when it was up you didn't leave and stop mentioning it, so we took for granted..." I ran up to hug her and we cried in each other arms.
