I stare at him
He stared back.
I refused to let words spill from my lips.
Playing with the frayed strap of my camera, hanging from my neck.
How would my mother react to finding me hanging from my ceiling fan.
A noose made from my camera strap.
The headlines would read "Death by Camera!"
I chuckled inwardly.
My face was to remain blank,
Void of emotion.
- If you don't want to talk about it, we can talk about something else.
I stared at him.
His glasses perched onto his pointy nose
His chubby hands reaching into his pocket to grab his handkerchief and wipe the streams of sweat running from his thinning hair.
I could just lean over his desk and grab the handkerchief.
Then tightly secure it around his neck, and squeeze the ends.
Watch his eyes bulge. Watch his face turn darker shades of red. Squeeze so tight until he's gasping for air, and suffoc-
- Greyson?
I snapped my eyes up to his face. I ground my teeth together.
- How's school?
I blinked. Then rolled my eyes. An amused look settling on my features.
"Well, doc. I didn't kill anybody, so I guess it went okay. Although, you should know, I almost did stab my maths teacher. Those goddamn trig problems."
I grinned, while he studied my face. He nodded slowly, my grin only got bigger.
- I see
He said it slowly. Cautiously, even. It made me feel powerful. Was he scared of me? Perhaps. I then started to stare at him. An intense stare. I looked him right in the eyes. Made sure my breathing got heavier, louder as I stared into his eyes with such a menacing hate and concentration.
He remained passive and confident. As if my glare didn't affect him. Probably a trick he'd learned in school for psychology. Never to show fear. He had a little smirk too. My god.
- Would you like to say something, Greyson?
I shook my head slowly. I kept my eye contact with him. Then, I quickly got my camera out.
SNAP.
I looked the picture over. He looked startled in it. which I found quite entertaining. I looked up to see his face calm again.
"I think my sessions up. I'll see you, doc. Oh, and you're quite photogenic"
I smirked at him, standing up from my seat to leave. I stretched and turned to the door. The corners of his mouth were twitched upward, his eyes squinting in thought.
"Nice chat, Greyson. My door is open anytime."
He looked up at me. I started to chuckled.
"You say it each time, I leave."
- You memorized what I say to you, each time you leave?
"Of course. I always thought it was fun repeating the words of hard-worked robots."
His smile fell a bit. He tried to cover it up, but I saw the falter in his expression.
Staring straight ahead, he spoke in a monotonous voice,
- Nice chat, Greyson.
He hesitated, but just for a second.
- My door is always open.
I gave him a hard stare, then walked out of the room and slammed the door behind me.
