that slides across my throat
ready to kill me
or save me
it is a blessing
that my voice can bring my family to tears
to have a talent I can call my own
and be able to express in a special way
but it is also a curse
it is the cause of my anxiety
and the day approaches for me to sing
to express myself to unknown faces
and for once
i wish this curse
would just disappear
