❁Chapter 5❁

Jamie's POV

I woke up the next morning dreading to go to school. I thought I could be a little mischievous and trick my mom into thinking I'm sick so I wouldn't have to go.

"MOM I DON'T FEEL GOOD" I yelled while still laying in bed

My mom walked into my room and starred at me

"That's nice honey but you're still going to school" she laughed

"Ugh. It was worth a shot"

"Yeah okay now get up, lazy" my mom told me as she walked out of my room

I pulled myself out of bed and headed to the shower. I felt the cold water on my skin as it woke me up a little. When I finished, I did the rest of my morning routine than scrolled through twitter until it was time to leave.

I arrived at school a little later than usual and headed towards the front of the building.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jacob speed walking towards me. When he got closer, he grabbed my hand and linked our fingers together.

"Morning loser" he greeted me

"Good morning ugly" I laughed

"Wow stop hating. I'm hot and you know you love me"

"Haha I do"

Right when we walked into the building, the bell rang telling us to get to class. We walked to our first class together, still holding hands.

While I was heading to my seat, I saw Lauren giving me death stares. I sat down, got out my notes, and tried my best to ignore her. It was kinda hard to ignore her considering she sits right in front of me though.

Lauren was basically the "Queen B" at school. Ever since I started coming here, she never liked me. I've never even said a word to her, yet, she despises me.

I ended up zoning out during class. I noticed Lauren pretending to fix her ponytail, just to drop a note on my desk. I unfolded the note and it read:

Back off bitch

I crumpled up the note and stuffed it away in my binder. I had no idea what she was talking about, and I didn't really care.

The bell finally rang and class was over. As I was walking through the hallway to get to my second class, Lauren pushed me against the lockers and continued walking.

Jacob caught up to me but didn't see her push me so I decided to keep it to myself. I continued walking with Jacob as I put a little pressure on my arm. I flinched as I felt the pain of it starting to bruise.

After a long day, school was finally over. Me and Jacob were quietly walking home until he broke the silence.

"Hey, by any chance.. do you want to come over my house and hang out for a bit?" Jacob nervously asked me

"Yeah, sure"

I heard Jacob whisper "yes" to himself as if he felt accomplished. He put his arm around me and we continued walking to his house.

When we arrived, Jacob opened the door for me and we walked inside.

"MOM I'M HOME" Jacob yelled

We walked towards the kitchen where his mom was cooking.

"Hi honey" she said while kissing him on the cheek

"Mom, this is Jamie from school. Jamie, this is my mom"

"Hi Jamie it's so nice to finally meet you, I've heard so much about you! You're right Jacob she is pretty" his mom said
