❁Chapter 8❁

Okay I'm not promising updates every Friday now because I suck at updating lol well anyways on august 2 I went to go see austin mahone in San Jose and I met him and it was the best day of my life

Jamie's POV

I woke up the next morning and checked my phone. I had a text from Jacob and tons of messages from the girls. I clicked on Jacob's name and instantly smiled.

Jacob: Good morning babe I hope you have an amazing day:*

Then I checked the messages from the group chat,

Maddie: WHAT HAPPENED ON YOUR DATE

Dani: WE NEED DETAILS

Kendal: I WILL LITERALLY GO TO YOUR HOUSE RIGHT NOW IF YOU DONT TELL US

I laughed at their messages and then responded with everything that happened:

Me: Okay so here it goes. He took me bowling and then we walked on the beach for a while and on the beach we almost kissed but these little 5 year olds were basically the cock block but I didn't mind because they were cute and yeah

I didn't include the part where we kissed in my room because I didn't feel that was appropriate to talk about.

Dani: For fuck sake just date him already

Kendal: For get about dating just marry the boy

Maddie: I'll plan the wedding

Me: There is no wedding we're not even a couple yet

We continued talking about me and Jacob and then discussed how Jack J should date Dani.

Jacob's POV

Last night was amazing, I thought. It was the perfect time to ask her to be my girlfriend yesterday, but I couldn't.

In 3 weeks I would be leaving on a 2 month tour. I haven't told anybody but Shawn and I knew I had to tell Jamie, I just didn't know how.

I got out my phone and texted Jamie.

Me: Hey you want to hangout today:)

She responded almost immediately,

Jamie: Yeah I'd love to

She invited me to hang out at her place in an hour so I got up and got ready.

Jamie's POV

The doorbell rang and I went to go open it. Jacob was standing there with a big smile on his face.

"Hey" he said

"Hi Jacob"

I led him inside and we both sat on the couch, criss-crossed, facing each other.

"Jamie.. t-there's something I really need to tell you" he stuttered

"There's something I need to ask you too"

"Oh okay, you first" he replied

"Well, we've been hanging out a lot lately... and we're getting pretty serious, so.. what are we?"

"Well what do you want us to be?" he smirked

"Um.. friends is good"

As soon as those words came out of my mouth, I regretted it. I watched his cute little smile turn into a frown. I loved Jacob and I wasn't thinking before I spoke.

"Oh" was all he managed to say

"Jacob-" I began but he cut me off

"No, no. It's fine. I got to go"

He stood up and speed walked towards the door. I got up and followed but he shut the door right in my face.

I felt the tears forming in my eyes. What did I do, I thought.

Jacob's POV

I walked right out of her house and shut the door so hopefully she wouldn't follow me. "Just friends" kept repeating in my head. Did our hand holding, our date, or our kiss mean anything to her?

I continued walking to my house and didn't even realize I was crying until I felt a tear fall down my cheek.

I made it to my house and stormed inside.

"Someone's home early so-" my mom. stopped mid-sentence when she saw my eyes red from crying.

"Jacob what's wrong" she gasped

"Nothing mom" I said walking up the stairs, avoiding eye contact.

I reached my room and slammed the door shut. I plopped down on my bed and cried into my pillow.

A few minutes later my mom walked in.

"Jacob, honey, what's wrong?" she asked while sitting down next to me on my bed.

"Jamie. She doesn't love me the way I love her" was all I could say

I sat up and cried into my mom's shoulder.

"It will be okay, you'll find someone. I promise"

"But it won't be Jamie"

I continued to cry in her shoulder while she tried to comfort me.

Jamie's POV

I just sat on the floor and cried until I couldn't cry anymore. I meant to tell him I wanted to be more than friends but I hesitated. This was my chance and I blew it.

The next day I woke up on my bed, confused at how I got there. I forced myself to get up and take a shower. I turned on the shower and let the cold water hit me.

After I finished, I headed to the kitchen and saw a note on the counter that read:

I came home and saw you on the floor so I put you in your bed. Remember you have school the next morning -mom:)

Shit. I forget it was Monday. I checked the time,

9:35 am

"Fuck fuck fuck" I said to myself

I ran upstairs and quickly got ready. I grabbed my bag and ran out the door. I began running as fast as I can to school and after about 5 seconds, I stopped. I'm already late anyways.

I took my time to get to school and when I finally arrived. It was already 10:20. I went to the office to pick up a tardy slip then headed to my 4th class.

Today went by really slow. It was the end of the day and I began walking home. Jacob didn't talk to me all day so I didn't expect him to walk with me. I continued to my house when, out of no where, Jacob comes up next to me.

"Hi um, can I walk with you" he asks nervously

"Yeah sure"

We began walking in silence. Jacob was keeping his distance from me and made sure his hand didn't touch mine.

We made it to my house, and neither of us barely talked to each other. Jacob opened his arms to hug me but realized what he was doing and pulled away.

"Uh, um.. bye Jamie" he said with a shy smile

"Bye Jacob"

He walked away without saying anything else. I walked inside and plopped down on the couch. I screwed up badly, I thought.
