thalia's pov;
and then the line went dead
"t-that was her boss wasn't it," johnny asked me, his voice barley in a whisper.
"i- i don't even k-know," i said, tears rolling down my eyes.
of course it was. he called and said she would be staying. and she seemed to be enjoying it.
my mom used to say never give yourself over to a guy. stand your ground, don't fall into their sex trap. but now my mom is screwing with her boss.
i ran out of the office and heard faded voices calling my name in the background. the bell was gonna ring soon and i needed to get to joey.
the bell rang before i could get to the class and everyone ran out of the class, and i couldn't see where i was going but i could see joey from a distance looking on his phone.
"JOEY," i yelled so loud that half of student stopped and stared but i didn't care.
he saw me and ran to me.
"what the fuck happened," he said wiping the tear and the running mascara off my eyelid.
"i cant explain here. i'm gonna throw up joey i cant be here rig-,"
before i knew it i felt myself get sick to my stomach and i ran outside.
before i knew it i was throwing up onto the sidewalk of our school. joey came and pulled my hair back and handed me some water.
"let's go baby. i need you to tell me what's wrong," joey said holding out his hand.
"a lot of shit is wrong. my mom is cheating on my step dad with her fucking boss and that's the reason she not coming home tomorrow. i heard it for myself. i heard his voice and then the line went dead when we called her. johnny heard. the fucking principal heard what type of whore my mom is. i'm not okay."
i was shaking at this point and i guess joey noticed because she ran up to me and hugged me tight. he started stroking my hair and i started full on sobbing.
"shhh baby i got you. cry as much as you want it helped me, it'll help you," he said, hugging me tighter while his grey shirt became a dark color because of my crying.
"just take me home joey please," i said pulling away from the hug and wiping my mascara filled eyes.
"no."
"joey don't play with me right now," i said pissed off.
"i'm not. you shouldn't be alone right now. come on, i have something to show you," he said taking my hand and leading me to his car.
and then we were off.
