sophia's pov;
the bell rang for dismissal and i ran onto the classroom to go to my locker to meet my new tutor.
obviously this isn't the best, but i need all the help i can get with math and it's an opportunity to make a new friend. and this is much better than being grounded for god knows how long. i saw joey and decided to go see how his day was.
"jojo wait up," i said running to him. he turned his head back and gave me a hug.
"what was that for dipshit," i said making him laugh alittle, but i could see the sadness in his eyes.
we were right near the front entrance, where my tutor was supposed to meet us.
"joey, you'll get through it. you always have. she's just another girl. expect she didn't treat you right at all. i know you loved her. but she didn't love you joey. you need someone who does," i said to him, and he just nodded.
"if you find a girl like that, let me know. in this fucked up town, the only good thing here are the chicken nuggets," he said, making me laugh.
he wasn't wrong though. lots of girl changed when they hooked up with a few guys here and there. joey seems like that type of guy, but he's not. he's sensitive, much more than he likes to admit. as much as i hate him, he's my brother and it kills me to see his kindness taken for granted.
joey waved to me before getting into his car with charles.
i waved back and saw thalia from a distance. i decided to go to her, thinking she was probably looking for me.
"hi," i said waving to her and giving her a light hug.
"hey. so um you wanna go to your house or my house," she asked walking out of the crowed entrance and into her car, motioning me to get in.
"your house because my family is annoying. but is anyone there?" i asked her putting on my seatbelt.
"i only have a stepbrother. my mom is the boss of a company so she works late and my dad..., well he died when i was five but he deserved it if i'm being honest," she said without thinking twice, but i could see the hurt in her eyes.
"he cheated on my mom with my stepmom i guess, but when they went on their honeymoon, my dads private jet crashed. her son came to live with us. he goes to our school but he's not with us today since he plays football. you might know him. johnny orlando?" she said and that named sounded very familiar.
"ohhh johnny tampa?" i looked at her confused and she gave me the same look and then we laughed.
"hey but i'm sorry about your dad and his cheating ways. you don't deserve that," i say putting my hand our her shoulder.
she just stayed silent and drove, sending a smile my way on the red light.
