i sat on my bed thinking about thalia's post.
she texted me she loves me.
she texted me nothings wrong.
i decide to go to her house and sort everything out.
with bree and her drama in my head, it was hard for me to focus.
i grabbed my car keys and slammed the front door shut. my house keys were somewhere and i didn't have time to find them. but that wasn't important.
i had to fix whatever happened.
the clouds were grey and the air was foggy. it looked like it was about to rain for weeks. but regardless i got into my car and drove.
i finally got to her house and didn't even bother parking correctly.
i just needed to see her.
i knocked on the front door and heard footsteps coming close.
expecting thalia, johnny actually opened the front door.
"joey, right now isn't a good time," he said trying to close the door but i stopped it with my hand.
"please johnny. i need to know what happened. i'm her boyfriend for gods sake. and today's our anniversary. please john," i said, practically begging him to let me in.
he sighed and let me in.
he went up the stairs to give us space but i felt scared now.
"thals," i whispered.
"joey," she said looking over at me. a tear ran down her cheek and i sat next to her quickly and wiped it.
"we need to break up," she whispered, her watery brown eyes meeting mine.
"thals, s-stop," i said, at a loss for words.
"joey i can't be with you anymore please leave," she said, getting up from the couch. you could tell she was on the verge of sobbing, but she was holding it in like her life depended on it.
"but i love you," i said getting up and giving trying to grab her hands and pull her into a hug.
"i don't love anyone else but you. you're so special to me. you make me feel like no one ever has,"
she ran into my arm and attached her lips to mine, hugging me tight, letting all her tears fall onto my sweater.
"never leave me," she said, and i hugged her tighter.
we cuddled on the couch but not even a minute later, she fell asleep.
i got comfortable and just when i did, my phone rang from my pocket and i picked it up quickly, trying not to wake up thalia.
i saw it was my mom and got curious. she never calls me during school, which is where she thinks i am now.
"j-joey," she said, and i could tell her was crying.
"mom what happened? is everyone okay?" i asked, gaining interest.
"sophia's in the hospital!" i heard johnny yell from the top of the stairs.
thalia immediately wakes up, confused and my mom just says to come quick.
"what happened?" thalia asked, rubbing her eyes to wake herself up.
"soph is in the hospital," i said, trying to stay strong.
"and i know exactly why."
