"Elijah Morgan, stop pulling your sister's hair!" I shouted out the back door. I was busy making lunch, and figured I could leave the kids alone in the back yard for a few minutes.

No such luck.

Ellie came flying inside, crying over the "bald spot" she was afraid her brother had caused.

"It's never going to grow back!" She wailed.

"Ellie, calm down, your hair is all still there," I comforted her.

"There's not as much!"

"You can't count your hair, honey. It's impossible. Therefore, you still have all your hair."

Ellie sniffled. "Promise?"

"Yes, I promise your hair is still there," I smiled. She immediately perked up and went back to playing.

15 minutes later, I was finished putting together sandwiches and making macaroni and cheese. My children are picky eaters.

I called them inside and made them wash their hands. They sat at the table while I put their food down and dug in instantly.

"Do you guys want to do anything today?" I asked them. Ellie and Elijah looked at each other, then smiled.

"Let's go to the zoo!" Ellie squealed.

"Is that all you want to do? It's a Saturday, so you guys can stay up a little later," I reminded them.

"Can we watch Jurassic Park before bed?" Eli asked, batting his long eyelashes at me. Jurassic Park was his favorite movie, and I was always hesitant to let him watch it. It had given him nightmares when he was younger.

However, today, I felt lenient. "Sure."

"Yes!" He celebrated, then continued shoveling the noodles into his mouth.

After lunch, we made our way to the zoo. I followed my kids happily as they ran, bounding back and forth between exhibits and enclosures. Every few seconds, there was a, "Look daddy!" and an ecstatic gesture toward an animal.

"Dad!" Eli summoned me. I made my way to where they stood, looking at the bird enclosure.

"Do you like the birds?" I asked. He nodded.

"Can we get one? Pleeease?" He batted his eyelashes, and Ellie followed suit. That was always their approach to getting what they want.

"Not right now," I replied. "Maybe some other time."

"Why?" They whined in unison.

"We don't need a bird right now," I laughed and ruffled both of their heads. They pouted, but soon forgot about it when we reached the lions.

I watched as they slowly picked apart the sign that educated about the lions, sounding out words slowly. I was having a proud father moment, watching my little Einsteins, when someone called me out.

"Spencer? Hey!" JJ herself came running toward me, and threw her arms around me. Henry quickly recognized me and gave me a quick hug. He was growing up, and it was obvious they were here for someone else, not him. I wondered about it.

"Hey!" I replied, matching her enthusiasm. "How's it going?"

"Good," she nodded. "We decided to have a family outing today for our littlest one. Will has her."

Will approached with a young, brown haired-blue eyed girl. She smiled shyly and buried her face in Will's shoulder.

"Hey Spencer," Will greeted me and shook my hand. I gave him a curt smile.
