Skylar's POV

I made it to my dorm quietly. I hopped into bed, thinking. WHat was the book? It looked like a memory case, but it could have been something else. Whatever it was, Ill confront Austin abou tit tommorrow, I thought. Up

The next day...

I was walking down from breakfast (Eggs and bacon) to my class. I recently signed up for techno magic, to confront Austin easier. I asked Tracy about it, and she said that Austin was mentally weakened on a daily basis when in his techno magic class, because he's thinking about many things at once. I walked into the room. It was unsuprisingly in a gear shape, with a cluster of desks in the middle. I took a seat across the room from Austin. He sat down, looking around. Each of the teeth of the gear held a plant pot with gears attached to the tall shrubs. Others filed in, and soon the class was busking with life. The teacher stood up, and began a lecture. Everyone immediately gotten out textbooks and pencils. I realised. I didn't have some. "You" I looked up. The teacher was looking at me "Were is you textbook?" "I don't have one" "why didn't you bring one?" "You heard what I said I don't have one" "Why don't you have one?" Students looked over. "I just enrolled" "Well, why didn't you get one when you signed up?" "I couldn't find one" the teacher stared at me "you can loan them from the library." "But I didn't know that." Austin looked over and almost fell out of his chair when he noticed me "Well now you know. Hurry along now. Go get one" she made a hand motion towards the door. I stood up and briskly walked out of the class. When I closed the door, I angrily swore.  "A, f*ck. The librarians going to f*cking kill me." "May I have detected malmouthing in our distinguished halls?" I turned. Proffesor Mcknealy was staring down at me. "I'm going to get a book from the library" "Oh, during class time. Skipping classes eh?" "The teacher sent me" "That does not change why you were using malmouthed words" I looked at him "So?" "I would like to protect the traditions of the-" I kicked him in the gut and ran, not looking back. I heard him croak "Guards!" And turned my head back. The guards were just there to help in case of a emergency or to restrain offending students. He pointed at me, and they charged. I turned and leapt out the window, backflip ping and landing on the soft grass below. I immediately turned and ran. A wooden door burst open and guards quickly filed out. I quickly jumped, kicked off the wall and landed behind them, rolling on the grass. I could deal with the stains later. I scaled a pipe, latching onto the overhang of a nearby roof. I heaved myself up and continued my escape.
I climbed over a railing and skidded down a slopped area, dropping down back onto the other side of a tall wall. Suddenly, the wooden door burst open. I was going too fast to stop, and collided with the person that was stepping out. My head smashed against the doorway, sending blinding pain into my brain. I looked up, and Austin was recovering "What are you doing here?" Austin groaned and said "The teacher sent me to find you." "I'm being chased by guards" Austin immediately snapped up "C'mon, I know a great hiding spot" I followed him into the castle, and he quickly shifted a brick open. He did that a few times, and soon there was a crack big enough for me to fit through. I looked in warily. It was a small room. "Tracy, me and two other freinds used to use this to study. Now they mostly usesthis but I still remember how to get in. I'll put the bricks back up. You stay in there until the search is over." I nodded, and slowly stepped in. The room was lit by a single family lightbulb and reeked of moss. I watched Austin slowly heave the bricks back into place. He barely managed to push the last brick into place when I heard voices "Austin! What are you doign here?" Mcknealy "I was sent to find why Skylar was gone for so long" "Why were you pushing against the wall?" I froze "I noticed it was slightly poking out so I pushed it back into place." "But why is there no mortar?" "I don't know, sir. Maybe they are going to put a torch in. Or some kind painting" "Notify me if you find Skylar" "Yes, sir" I heard footsteps walk away. "Close one" I heard Austin mutter through the bricks "I'm going back to class. I'll tell the teacher your helping scrub the mess hall. Stay in there until I come back" and with that he left. I looked around the room. It wasn't too furnished, just a desk with a chair, a sofa, and a bookcase. I walked over to the desk. Papers were scattered, indicating that it was used recently. one at the top of the pile caught my eye. It said 'Begin'. THat was it. A single word on the page. I walked over to the bookshelf and flipped open a book. It was titled 'Murdering without making it look like murder. By Uher Tompson' strange they would have this. Id have to ask Austin about it later.

A few hours later...

I heard grunting and the bricks yanked away. AUstin's head popped in and said "Cmon. We need you to get back to your dorm ASAP" I stepped out and helped him heave the bricks vack. THen, I asked him about the book. He looked at me and said "Skylar. We're in a dark magic school. We need secretive methods of killing people. I read that book twice. Its interesting. Cmon before the guards see us" We quickly hurried. We ran through the feilds until we got to my dorm. I stood at the door and Austin asked "Why does that feel like it happened before?" I shrugged. Before I closed the door, I said "Wait. Didnt you travel back in time earlier?" "Yeah?" He slapped his forehead "RIght! The night before your birthday. When we got here, you kissed me." I looked at him odd, then walked forward and gave him a breif kiss. "W-What?!" He asked "For old times sake" I saied, silently entering my dorm.
