Part 9

Austin's POV

I was thrown agans tthe wall of the makeshift cage. THe wolf glared at me. It was enchanted to be a vicious killer, but Ben normally used it for punishment and torture. My leg and arm were bleeding severly several bite marks clearly visible. The wolf lunged at me, and I raised my arm to sheild my face "Stop! Please" I felt the stinging pain as the wolf bit into my flesh. I looked up. Tracy glared down at me with her cold, dead eyes. I felt sadness. We were best freinds for years. Almsot every day we would drag each other to the hightest tower to see the sunrise. We almost never did anything apart. Now she was standing over me as I was being mauled by a wolf.

I felt two more pairs of eyes looking down at me. It was Ben and Skylar. She didnt seem to be evil yet, but I noticed Ben keeping Ayoms dagger facing her at all times. I hated the dagger. It shone with all of our blood.

THe wolf threw me again, and I landed in the middle of the cage, flipping over to a stop. My entire body ached and stung. The wolf lunged again, but was stpooed by a sudden chain. Tracy opened the pen, kicked me, and dragged me out. She threw me agains tthe floor, and  I gasped for air. "Take him with us. We might need him later" ben said. Tracy forced me up, and made me walk at dagger point.

We walked for a bit then we reached another clearing.

Tracy kicked me, forcing me to my knees. Ben said "When i rule, you shall become kigns and queens of your own lands. That you choose. But I must make sure that you are up for the task. Austin." Tracy forced me up again "I would like you to make SKylar one of us to prove your loyalty" He handed me the dagger and kicked SKylar to her knees. I flipped the dagger around in my hand. It still gleamed with blood in my hand. I looked at SKylar. Wait, I thought. I had control. Which means...

I turned around and shoved the dagger to Ben's face. "What?" He asked "IM not doing it." I replied, and with one motion I did a backflip over SKylar and sliced the rope binding her arms behind her back. She reached for her daggers juping and doing a corkscrew mid air. She and Tracy clashed blades as Ben reachde for his nuchucks. I slcied towards him, but he wrapped his nunchucks around my sword, and pulled. He had more strength than ever before. I kicked his wrist, our weapons falling to the ground. We fougth hand to hand. Ben launched a tidal wave of attacks while I only blocked and dodged.

There was a scream. I knew instantly who it was. Bell. I ran past Ben, grabbing ym sword in one motion, and ran towards the scream. When i arrived, Bell was held by Jiara at arrowpoint. "Come any closer" she snarled "And Ill kill her." I didnt move "Put your weapons down" I didnt move. She pushed the arrow cloer to Bell's neck and I put my sword on the grass and raised my hands quickly "Good. Now toss it to the ground in front of me." I did so, and she shoved Bell forward. I caught her in ym arms and held her close. "Now time for the fun part. WHich one of you should I kill" I looked up. Kiara was smirking, her bow raised.

Suddenly, she froze for a second then crumbled to the ground. Kevin held a peice of wood above his head "Did I do it right?" Elise came into view "Yeah. Why are ou here?" I explained everything. "Then where is SKylar?" I suddenly realised "Oh sh*t. I left her with Tracy and ben" We all quickly ran to the clearing. Tracy was recovering from a attack, but Ben grabbed her from behind raising the dagger to her throat. I grabbed a throwing star from my robes and threw it at him. It cut in between them, as Ben tumbled back. Skylar rushed towards us, when she suddenly fell to her knees. I looked at her, and notcied a small smoke trail from her back. She fell down, and me and Bell kneeled next to her. SKylar was breathing heavily as if tryng hard to stay awake. Bell started comforting her as I looked up. Tracy stil had her arm up from firing the spell. "Tracy...why?" I asked "We were freinds." "We WERE" She said, laughing manically "I work with Ben now, and I dont regret anything." "You just shot down the person you love!" "I never loved her. She was a disease to us all. I've done us a favor" "We need to get her help quick" Bell muttered behind me. I nodded and said "Go when i say so. Ill distract them." I faced Tracy and the now panting Ben "Three.,..two...one...GO!" I yelled, jumping forward and morphing into smoke. I flew around them, creating a huge smokescreen. I watched as Elise and Kevin heaved Skylar away as Bell watched for a moment. I morphed back into my human form and ran to her "Lets go" I said, taking her by the hnad and running.

We ran all the way back oto the school. We got SKylar into te medcal bay, on the account of 'Wild animal attack'. Elise and Kevin also insisted that I stay for my anial wounds. I laid on the bed, thinking. There was no balancing energy nearby. So what wuold be the best cure?
I looked over at SKylar and rememebred. Light magic would hopefully cure them. Worth a shot anyway. I rolled over and fell asleep.
