"Holy cheese and crackers!" Lance squeals in delight as he rolls around on his bed, "I can't believe that he really asked me to dance with him tonight!"

Allura giggles at the sight of Lance being so flustered, "See... The master isn't as bad as you thought. He really does have a kind heart under that rough exterior!"

Lance rolls off of the bed and in a lovesick daze he raises from the floor and stumbles around. Suddenly he comes to a halt and stares off into space, "Wait... Does this mean that I'm one of those weird guys that likes other guys?"

"Does it matter?!" Allura states, "Love is love!"

Lance smiles, "You're right,", He stumbles over to Allura, "I should get ready soon!"

Allura complies, "Ah yes, the master said dusk right?"

"I believe so!"

Allura looks out the window and shakes in fear, "That's only maybe an hour! That's truly not enough time! But I'll do my best with this limited time."

~~~
"Beautiful. But something is missing," Allura says.
Lance raises an eyebrow, "What could possibly be missing?!"
Allura notices some golden dust, "Ahh, yes. The finishing touch."
The dust floats down onto already bright, golden suit that Allura had made for Lance. The dust wraps itself around the edges of the suit, adding a shiny yet subtly elegant look to the suit. The small golden details add the finishing touch to the suit.
Allura is amazed by her work and is practically speechless, "Wonderful.."
Lance looks down at the suit astonished, "Wow...", He looks up at his reflection in the mirror, "I-I... I can't thank you enough, Allura!"
"Oh it's the least I could do," Allura says, "Now go! Go before Master gets impatient!"
~~~

Lance steps into the grand ballroom and spots Keith talking to a dusty old piano. Stepping closer he earns their attention.

The piano shifts towards Lance, "Good evening sir! The master has told me about you."

"All good things I hope," Lance smiles lightly.

"But of course," The piano teases Keith, "He thinks very highly of you! Isn't that right Master?"

Keith smacks the piano, "Shut up, Shiro."

Lance chuckles at the sight. The two seemed like brothers in their teasing nature. Keith was clearly close to Shiro, seeing as he is the first who can joke with Keith and not get a harsh scolding.

Keith stares in a lovesick daze at Lance before smiling and offering his hand, "Um... May I?"

Lance shares the same small lovestruck smile as Keith. Nodding he answers, "You may."

Stepping to the center of the starry-moon-lit room, the two stare lovingly into each other's eyes as Shiro begins to play a soft tune. Hunk rolls into the room on his cart and spots the two. He shares a glance with Shiro before giving him a silent agreement.

"Just a little change," Hunk sings, as he watches Keith and Lance dance, "Small to say the least, Both a little scared. Neither one prepared... Beauty and the Beast."

Keith drips Lance down earning a surprised squeak from his partner, before slowly pulling him back up as the music starts to become more lively.

"Ever just the same! Ever a surprise! Ever as before, ever just as sure! As the sun will rise!!!" Hunk continues, "Tale as old as time. Tune as old as song. Bittersweet and strange, finding you can change. Learning you were wrong!"

Some of the other servants sneak in to watch their master. Matt and Pidge sit atop Shiro watching hopefully. Matt pulls his younger sister closer into a small hopeful hug as they watch their master spin Lance.

"Certain as the sun, rising in the East! Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the Beast..."

The servants watch hopefully, silently praying that this is enough for Keith and Lance to fall in love.

"Tale as old as time..." Hunk slows along with Shiro, "Song as old as rhyme...", With one last breath he sings the last line, "Beauty and the Beast..."

The two men stare lovingly into each other's eyes once more, before stepping away from one another and bowing. Keith takes Lance's hand and leads him out to the balcony. They stare up at the starlit sky, smiling. Keith looks to Lance and his smile fades.

"I haven't danced in years. I'd almost forgotten the feeling," Keith admits. He stops for a moment and gains Lance's full attention then hesitantly continues, "It's foolish, I suppose, for a creature like me to hope that one day he might earn your affection."

Lance thinks about that for a second, "I don't know... Maybe you can."

Keith looks hopeful, "Really? So you think you could be happy here?"

Lance looks away, out onto the moonlit forest, "Could anyone be happy if they're not free?"

Keith follows his gaze and understands what Lance is saying. He goes to say something but Lance cuts him off, "My mother taught me to dance. I used to step on her toes a lot."

The two chuckle at the thought of younger Lance stepping on his mother's feet before Keith replies, "You must miss her."

Lance looks down wistfully, "I do..."

Keith looks to Lance then to the ballroom doors and sighs, "Would you like to see her?"

~~~
Keith hands Lance a hand mirror, "Just say that you'd like to see your mother."
Lance takes the mirror and stares at his reflection before whispering, "I'd like to see my mother."
The mirror glows then shows Lance's mother being dragged towards a cage-like carriage. Fear fills Lance and he shows Keith, "What are they doing to her?!"
Keith's eyes widen as he realizes that he has to let his newfound love go. He swallows the forming lump of sadness in the back of his throat and says, "You must go to her."
Lance looks from the mirror to Keith, "What did you say?"
"You must go to her. No time to waste," Keith says wearily.
Lance smiles lightly and hugs Keith, "Thank you."
Keith lightly wraps his arms around Lance's waist but then quickly pushes Lance away, "Go, now. Before its too late."
Lance nods and tries to hand the mirror back, but Keith rejects that action, "No. Keep it with you. And you'llalways have a way to look back on me."
Lance gives him a sad yet grateful smile and rushes out of the castle into the night.
