Before this chapter starts, I noticed some challenging vocabulary in the script and decided to use some of it. I save you guys the trouble I made a list with definitions.
Turrets - A small tower on top of a larger tower or at the corner of a building or wall, typically of a castle.
Pitch - basically flammable garbage like rotten wood and such.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keith sighs, watching his only hope of freedom run away into the night. He turns to the rose and bites his lip realizing this is the end.
Pidge walks in, "Well, master, I may have had my doubts, but everything is moving like clockwork. True love really does win the day!"
Keith glares back at his servant, " I let him go."
" You... WHAT!?" Pidge gasps.
Matt, Lotor, and Hunk come in, all upset and worried. Matt looks to his master, "Master... how could you do that?"
"I had to..."
Pidge is fairly confused, "But why?"
Keith doesn't answer. He only looks out the window. Hunk decides to answer his friend's question, "Because he loves him."
Even more confusion. Matt looks around at his friends, "Then why are we not human?"
Something clicks in Pidges mind causing her to become even more upset, "Because he doesn't love him! And now, it's too late!"
Lotor, for once, decides to be hopeful. Only because this is his last hope, "But he might still come back--"
Keith looks down and back to his servants, "No. I've set him free. I'm sorry I couldn't do the same for all of you...", Keith turns away from them, unable to face the people who have done nothing to deserve this fate. The people that took care of him his whole life. The people he screwed over. He sighs sadly, "Now go. Our time is almost past."
The staff looks at one another then leaves.
Keith looks back to make sure they're gone. Seeing he's alone he looks down and sings to himself, "I was the one who had it all. I was the master of my fate. I never needed anybody in my life. I learned the truth too late..." Walking out of his room and onto his balcony, Keith spots Lance mounting his horse, "I'll never shake away the pain. I close my eyes but he's still there," He closes his eyes for a second and sees Lance's bright smile in his mind, "I let him steal into my melancholy heart," He opens his eyes and grasps his shirt, over his heart, "It's more than I can bear..."
Keith looks back to where Lance was, seeing he's already gone. He looks up towards the forest and spots Lance. Keith starts to head up the turrets of the castle to watch Lance leave, "Now I know he'll never leave me. Even as he runs away. He will still torment me, calm me, hurt me, move me, come what may," He climbs higher and higher to keep Lance in his sight as he rides away, "Wasting in my lonely tower. Waiting by an open door. I'll fool myself he'll walk right in... And be with me for evermore..."
He looks down, Lance getting further away, and decides to climb higher. "I rage against the trials of love. I curse the fading of the light. Though he's already flown so far beyond my reach. He's never out of sight!" Reaching the top of the highest turret, Keith leans out the window, "Now I know he'll never leave me. Even as he fades from view. He will still inspire me, be part of everything I do... Wasting in my lonely tower. Waiting by an open door. I'll fool myself he'll walk right in, and as the long long nights begin. I'll think of all that might have been. Waiting here for evermore."
