I just want to clear something up- Aisling is pronounced Ash-ling and Aideen is pronounce Aye-deen. They're Irish names I found as they are Seamus Finnegan's granddaughters. Okay. Hope you enjoy this chapter, vote and comment if you do :) Elise and Eva

The day seemed to drag for the group of students. After Muggle Studies they had double potions- which was now finally over and it was lunch. The five of them were sitting in the great hall on the Gryffindor bench, having been joined by Aisling and Alana.

"Ash, what lessons have you had?" Aideen asked her sister

"Uhh... We had double potions and then we had Muggle science and DADA" Ash replied

"Who did you have for DADA?" Carina asked

"Trushwright" Alana replied, letting Ash take a large bite of the sandwhich she had chosen for lunch.

"Same, she make you work in silence?" Carina nodded.

"Yeah!" Ash said, after swallowing her food "She's so harsh!"

"I know right! I was so exhausted after that lesson- for keeping quiet for so long!" Neville laughed

"Oh shut up, just because you can't keep quiet for ten seconds" Ash shook her head

"That is exactly what I said" Aideen grinned

"Great minds think alike" Ash smiled, holding up her hands for a high five

"Or it could just be that you're triplets and can think almost exactly the same anyway?" Neville asked

"Hey! I didn't think that!" Alana moaned, frowning.

"Sorry 'Lana" Neville appologised.

After lunch the group of five had Muggle Science and Muggle living. If they had it worked out right, they would have Professor Young for Muggle Science as she is who the second group had. They arrived at their allocated classroom just as the teacher arrived. And they were right. Professor Young was their Muggle Science teacher. Once they walked into the classroom they felt in an entirely different world to the one they were used to. There was no cages of magical creatures lining the walls, no single desks like in the defence against the dark arts classrooms. There wasn't even two long desks like in the charms classrooms. It was something the had never seen before. There was three long desks double the height of what they were used to- with wooden stools in the place of chairs. Thin glass tubes containing elaborately-coloured potions were propped up in different places along the classroom. A life-size skelenton stood at the front of the classroom staring at each of the students as the walked in. The walls were lined with posters with funny words like 'Biology' and 'elements' written on them. There was taps at either end of the three long desks with a square carved into the wood below the taps with a small hole in the centre of the square. Neville being his nosy self put his finger in one of the holes to test what was in there- assuming it was some type of magical creature. As he pulled up he almost yelled at the fact the square came off leaving a kind-of shallow dip in the desk; with yet another hole in the centre

"That's a drain" Carina stated "Must be a sink- for the tap"

"Yeah, but why is there taps on the end of the benches?" Neville asked, getting his curiosities out "And what are all those potions- I don't recognise them"

"Those" Professor young said "Are not potions of any sort- they are chemicals"

"What in Merlins name are chemicals?" Neville question, shocked by the use of new language he thought he would have heard by now.

"Take a seat and I will tell you" Professor you said, walking to the front of the class and settling everyone down. The group of five took seats at the back of the class- as they normally did.

"Good afternoon class" Professor Young nodded to the class "I assume you all know my name, but if not I am Professor Young. I usually teach muggle studies but due to new laws from the Ministry I have been appointed the job of Professor of muggle science and a new Professor has taken my place in my old classroom. As you may have realised this classroom was never here before- well it was, it was just a normal classroom; it was not used very much. But, again, due to the new laws put in place by the Ministry this classroom was needed. I assume you have all been told about the new laws?" After a series of muttered 'no's and a lot of shaking heads Professor Young began to explain. "As you probably saw on your way here- at Kings Cross- there has been a lot of new changes in the Muggle world. A lot of new technology and materials have been developed causing a huge change in their world. In order to keep up with their technology and everything they are now putting in place the Ministry have decided to give Hogwarts students the chance to learn the stuff Muggles children of your age do. Of course, as you are in your fourth year here at Hogwarts you have missed three years out of what the Muggles learn at their schools- which they call 'Secondry Schools' here in England. Because of that we are only teaching you a simplified course however if you wish to learn in more detail we have placed books in the library that are used to teach muggle school children and we have also produce books that are made specifically for witches and wizards to teach you more. Any questions?" After around ten seconds of nobody asking any questions Professor Young decided to carry on "Okay- let's start with the basics"

Professor Young went on throughout the whole of the lesson about the 'basics' of science. She went all on about 'Chemistry' and 'Biology' and 'Physics' being the most important names in science. She then gave a basic on each of the 'single sciences' which almost overran the lesson time. She found a way to quickly round up her speech on Physics- the last 'single science' she decided to talk about' before shooing everybody out the class because she had a first year class she needed to teach the exact same thing to.

"Don't you think it's bad enough we have to learn this stuff, and how hard we are finding it" Aideen said "But they are teaching it to first years too- I don't think I would cope- at least we already have some knowledge of transfiguration, charms and whatnot, but first years have nothing, and they have to learn it all- I would hate that"

"Me too"  Carina sighed. They had Muggle living next- who knew what that would entail; and wahat sort of classroom they'd be in for this one. Luckily, there was no unusual vials on the desk, and no unusual-worded posters on the wall, or even a doble-sized desk. This room was perfectly normal. As normal as any classroom can be. There was single wooden desks in rows, one person per desk. This wasn't unusal- the defense against the dark arts desks were like this. Carina sat at the back with her friends- luckily there was five rows- and decided that if the teacher seemed nice and easy-going then they would slowly shift their desks towards eachother so they could form a little huddle. They'd gotten in trouble for this in the past but were now more careful- and made sure their teacher was nice before doing so. Although her name slightly put them off- their teacher seemed very nice. They wanted to leave it until next week before finally deciding whether to shift desks or not, as one lesson was never enough to test the teachers patience.

Professor Stern was nice, maybe not too easy going but enough that maybe they could shift their desks. And their lesson- muggle living- was something they simply didn't expect at all. Muggle living was, as the name implies, all about how the muggles lived their lives- what they did on a day to day basis, and how they grew up, their customs and traditions. Although this is exactly what the name implied the group expected something completely different. Perhaps the previous science lesson had thrown them off, as they were completely wrong about what chemistry meant. Professor Stern explained that different muggles lived differently, and different muggles in different places- such as countries- acted differently, according to their laws, just like witches and wizards do. As there was not much time to spare after handing out the books and getting everyone settled, going through names and writing down where everybody was, Professor Sterm went breifly over what they were to be covering that year. They were to be learning about muggle schools- and what the students have to do there. They were to learn about various muggle jobs, and what work effort went into those. The final thing they would be learning about is customs and traditions- how they celebrated special occasions and the such.

The lesson didn't drag on as much as the students thought it would. It was surprisingly interesting. Carina was excited to learn about muggles and their lives and was now happy that she was given muggle studies for her classwork even though she didn't choose it for her O.W.L.s.

After the lesson the group went up to the common room to drop off their bags before returning to the Great Hall for their dinner- which tonight was a display of various pies.
