Chapter 6

Okay guys, this chapter includes a long speech by Carina about her family. I am going to put here how to pronounce some of the names so you know when it comes up. They can sometimes be a bit confusing so I thought I'd do this just in case. Okay. Elise xx

Ti [Titor's nickname] :T-eye

Luca: Luke- ah

Lynx: [it's pronounced like the deodorant] Lin-x

Ly: [Lynx's nickname] L-i

Nyx [Lynx's nickname] Nick-s

Mony: [Harmony's nickname] Mon-ee

Jose: Ho-say [It's Spanish as he and America are a quarter Spanish]

Bellamai: Bella-may

Phoenix: Theo-nick-s

Pheo: [Phoenix's nickname] Theo

Nix: [Phoenix's nickname] Nick-s

Leif: Leaf

Amie: [America's nickname] Am-ee [like I 'am']

Sorry that's a lot but I thought it would be easier to say how to say some of the 'complicated' names now so there is no confusion later.

 After dinner the five students were joined by Aisling and Alana to head up to the common room to do their assigned homework. Carina gaining her grandmother's smart brain was able to finish it quickly, unlike most of her friends. As usual she was aiding every single one of them at one point or another. Whether it be what they had learnt in Potions the previous year with the previous teacher or what they had learnt in muggle studies that day. Whilst everyone was finishing Carina went to go sit on the sofa. She didn't notice there were two young girls huddles together until she sat down. 

"Oh, hey" Carina smiled at them when she noticed them. The two girls- they barely looked old enough to be first years- shakingly looked up at Carina. One of them had dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She wore red roses in her heair to match the colours on her Hogwarts robes. The other girl had dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, her hair was in a plait down her back.Carina figured out who they were "Oh, are you Rosetta and Jaelynn?" 

"Y-yes, how do you know our names?" The girl with blonde hair asked. 

"Your cousin, Oscar, is one of my best friends, oh and your mums asked me if I could keep an eye out for you" Carina explained. 

"Oh, okay, I'm Jaelynn" The brunette said

"And I'm Rosetta" The other girl said. 

"Nice to meet you, I'm Carina" Carina introduced

"Oh! Oscar talks about you a lot" Jaelynn giggled "You seem really close"

"We are" Carina smiled. She spoke with the two girls for a while, getting to know them better

"Oscar says you have a huge family. Can you tell us?" Rosetta asked

"Well Oscar's right. I do. Well they are mostly all my second cousins but we are really close. It could take a long time are you sure you want to know?" Carina asked

"Yes please!" Jaelynn and Rosetta chorused simultaneously. Carina nodded and began to explan

"I'll start from the eldest. Okay. Nymphadora Lupin the second, she's 21 but we all call her Tonks. Her brother- Remus Lupin the second is 20, we call him Rem. We have nicknames for everyone in our family by the way." She smiled "Isabelle Quinn is also 20 and we call her Belle. Titor Quinn is her brother and he is 19, we call him Ti. Thomas Randall-Weasley is also 19, we call him Tom. His sister- Maya Randall-Weasley is 18, we call her May. Kayli Weasley is also 18 and we call her Kay. Her sister is Hadlee Weasley who is 17 and we call her Hay. Russel Griffin is 17 and we call him Russ. His twin brother is Jake Griffin and we call him Jay. Luca Evans is 17 but he doesn't have a nickname, Luke if anything. Valentine Evans, or Val is Luca's sister and she is 16. Nadia, Dia, Weasley is also 16. Melody, Mel, Weasley is Nadia's sister and is 15. Luna Potter is 15, we call her Lu. Fabian Potter is one of my best friends, we call him Fabe and he is 14. I am Carina Malfoy, I am 14 and I get called Carrie, you can call me that too if you like. Neville Potter is another one of my best friends, he is also 14 and we call him Nev. My brother, Lynx is 12 and we call him Ly; I call him Nyx to annoy him, you could do that too! Harmony Potter is 12, we call her Mony; she's Neville's sister. Jose Weasley is 12 and we call him Joe, because he prefers that. Bellamai Burrow is also 12, we call her Bella. My other brother is Phoenix Malfoy, I call him Pheo to be annoying but everyone calls him Nix, not Lynx; he's 11. Leif is Neville and Harmony's brother and he is 11, we all call him Lee. America is Jose's sister and she is 11, we call her Amie. Lastly there is Cassandra Burrow, or Cassie, she's Bellamai's sister and she is also 11."

"Wow! That's 27!" Jaelynn laughed

"How many are at Hogwarts?" Rosetta asked

"Uhh..." Carina quickly counted on her fingers "20"

"What houses are they in?" Jaelynn asked

"Oh, gosh... Uh, right... Leif, Phoenix, Bellamai, Jose, Harmony, Lynx, Neville, Fabian, Nadia, Valentine, Luca, Jake, Russell, Hadlee and I are in Gryffindor... Cassandra and America are in Hufflepuff and Luna and Melody are in Ravenclaw. As for the seven who are no longer in Hogwarts, umm... Kayli, Maya and Tonks were in Hufflepuff and Tom, Titor, Isabelle and Remus were in Gryffindor" Carina explained. Just as she finished her six best friends joined her by the fire.

"Jae! Rose!" Oscar exclaimed when he realised Carina was talking to his cousins

"Osc!" The two girl replied

"Were you talking to Carrie?" Oscar asked

"Yeah!" Jaelynn replied

"She was just telling us about her HUGE family!" Rosetta grinned

"Can you tell us more Carrie?" Jaelynn asked

"Yeah! You seem really interesting!" Rosetta agreed

"Maybe later, I want to go talk to my other friends now" Carina grinned- glad that this hopefully meant the two would like her and put her in for a good word with their mothers, meaning she is more likely to do her favour. Not that she didn't want to do it of course, they seemed like lovely girls and she would have liked to get to know them more too. 

"Okay see you later Carrie!" The two girls grinned. Carrie watched the two chat and giggle together as she walked off to sit with her friends

"Finally done then?" Carrie asked, laughing

"We finished ages ago" Alana joked

"Yeah right- how come I didn't know then?" Carina smiled, raising her eyebrows. 

"Because those two girls looked so engrosed in listening to you we couldn't bear to part you from them" Aisling laughed

"Of course" Carina said sarcastically.
