"But I believe there's more to life than all my problems maybe there's still hope for me to start again

Get my feet back on the ground
Pull my head out of the clouds
I think it's time for me to figure me out" I hear the beautiful voice drifting through the air from the back of the newly built hay barn. Luke Ash Cal and I worked all month on rebuilding it for John. well, Luke and I did as Much as we could seeing as we were still healing from our burns. I'll have some scarring on my leg from the 3rd degree burns, but it could have been a whole lot worse. And since I hear a guitar, i guess Luke's hands are feeling better.

"feeling better i see?" I startle him by silently walking into the barn behind him.

"what the hell Mikey?" he laughs, going to put his guitar down in the hay next to him.

"was that a new song?" i ask him, placing the tool belt i was holding on the ground by the door and taking a seat next to him. he nods.

"It's called Figure Me Out."

"Can i hear it?" i tip my head. he plays with his fingers slightly, he tells me there is still a bit of nerve damage but it gets better every day. he silently nods and picks the guitar back up. Speaking of guitars, i'm so grateful Luke got me that guitar back in Sydney, because my old one was destroyed in the fire.

"I'm a bit too pop for the punk kids, but I'm too punk for the pop kids

I don't know just where I fit in cause when I open my mouth I know nobody's listenin'
To the words of a prophet who still can't turn a profit
Cause I don't fit in with the in crowd, but I'm too Hollywood to go back to my hometown

Cause they think that I'm famous when I know I'm a fraud
Who got too fucked up on the finer things to remember who he forgot

But I believe there's more to life than all my problems maybe there's still hope for me to start again
Get my feet back on the ground
Pull my head out of the clouds
I think it's time for me to figure me out

Let's get back to the basics and take it back to the basement
Where I heard Born To Run for the first time and I stared at my dad in amazement
He said, "Son don't stop chasing great and keep pounding the pavement."
So I'd much rather die tryin' to make something sacred than live as another YouTube sensation

Cause I hate that they're famous for being something they're not
While I'm too hung up on the things I don't have to appreciate what I've got

But I believe there's more to life than all my problems maybe there's still hope for me to start again
Get my feet back on the ground
Pull my head out of the clouds
I think it's time for me to figure me out

Time for me to figure me out
Time for me to figure me out
So if you hear this song turn it up real loud
Cause it's time for me to figure me out
Alright, if you hear this song turn it up real loud
Cause it's time for me to figure me out

I believe there's more to life than all my problems I just wanna fall in love before I'm dead
So I can make my parents proud
Hope my feet don't fail me now
Cause it's time for me to figure me out" we both stay silent when he stops playing but were silent for two different reasons. I'm speechless, that song was amazing, but the message behind it is what makes me awe. i guess he's finally realized that he's made some mistakes.

"that was amazing.. New sound?" I ask, knowing it's completely different then on all his other albums. Luke's caught me up with all his music, he bought me all his albums saying since i was his best friend i was obligated to have all his music. i just rolled my eyes at him and let him do it.
