Jihoon wakes up from the annoying sound of cardinal birds chirping from the birdhouse that he built when he was little. He gets up and goes downstairs to the kitchen after he does his business in the bathroom.

"Mom! Have you seen my phone?!" He gets no answer. "Mom?" Still no answer. "Dad?! Where are you guys?!" He looks around the house running through the hallway. "What the fuck?" He goes outside to the front and the backyard. No one.

He found his phone which layed on the couch with a dead battery. "Damnit." Running back to his room Jihoon plugs in his phone and tries to contact his mom.

Mom where did you guys go? You didn't tell me you had to work today.

She responded back quickly.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you before. Your father and I are doing some extra business today so we'll be home really late tonight. Don't wait up on us. Stay safe. <3

It's a Saturday and Jihoon sits on the edge of his bed pissed off, but also quite relieved knowing that he doesn't have to deal with their bull crap for the whole day. He changes into a dark grey V neck and some black ripped jeans with a plain black hat to go with it.

"Work all day. Then I'm gonna do whatever I want today. No bullshit. No problem." He walks out the door.

Their house was isolated from the woods so he didn't exactly know where to go in order to get out besides falling back into the open road from last night. The burning sunlight burns his eyes. He's never actually been outside during this time of day. Looking around he finally found the hidden driveway and followed it out of the everlasting woods.

Putting on his head phones he finds a slim sidewalk that lead to God knows where. First time for everything. There were flowers everywhere on the sides of the sidewalk, even in between the crooked cracks. Fresh air flowing through his face as the wind flew passed him.

Cars, buses, and trains all passing by so quickly Jihoon got startled a little by most of them.

"Haven't people ever heard of walking?" He exclaimed to himself. "I've never heard so much Moise in my life. I mean obviously I've been trapped all my life." Shaking his head Jihoon realizes how stupid he must sound talking to himself out loud.

The smell of freshly cooked chicken had his mouth watering. About a block away there lead a butcher shop where Jihoon found himself craving for some fresh meat. As he walked in he saw pigs hanging down that were half cut from the side. Blood dripped down on the floor. Jihoon's green eyes slowly started turning a dark, blood red. He tried to contain himself from the smell, so he quickly left the shop before anything else happened.

Taking a deep breath he walked around to a park. Little kids playing on the slides and the seesaws. He took off his headphones and sat on a swing.

A girl about his age was playing around with her younger brother while her mother sat down on the bench with her aunt. Jihoon saw the way she played with her brother. It was something he couldn't relate to.

He gets a text from his mom.
What are you doing today since we aren't there? He rolls his eyes. Don't worry about me it's not like I'm actually gonna do anything Mom. I'm not a baby anymore. After putting his phone away he looked up and saw the girl standing right in front of him.

"What are you doing sitting here all alone?" She asked sitting on the swing next to him.

"I'm not alone if there's other people around me."

"Well you are alone if no one is playing or talking to you." She smiled.

"But you're talking to me."

"Because you were just here alone." She giggled. "I'm Yuna." She took out her hand to give him a hand shake.

"Hi...." He didn't shake her hand.

"Why are you wearing such dark colors on such a hot day? Especially a black hat? Aren't you hot?" Leaning her head to the side Yuna just looked at him curiously.

"No I'm fine. I usually don't get hot anyways." He said trying not to make eye contact with her. "I gotta go." He stands up from the swing and walks away back home.

"Why did she ask me so many questions? I don't even know her and she already wants to know so much." Rubbing the back of his neck Jihoon goes back home and into his room throwing himself on his bed. "That was so weird. That's not what I expected at all."

11:00 PM

Jihoon's parents walk in the house with bags of food. His father starts putting some leftovers in the microwave for the morning.

"What do you think he meant by it's almost time? We need to tell Jihoon before he finds out for himself." His mother whispered.

"No it's better for him not to know anything even if it's too much for him to bare."

"But he's already stressed out as it is."

"Then let's take it one step at a time."

"What do you mean?"

"We'll make him live a normal teenage life." His father explained. "He'll have to start going to a public school starting Monday, but we can't tell him why. The most important thing is that he'll be out." His mother nods.

His mother turns on her laptop and registers Jihoon into high school. There wasn't much to fill out in the application since he's only been homeschooled. Everything was going as planned. Or was it?
